Former Good Morning America chief medical correspondent Dr. Jennifer Ashton is celebrating a milestone in her health and wellness journey.
“Strength at 56 and 26 @chloee_ashtonn 💪🏼🧡❤️😎,” Jennifer wrote via Instagram on Friday, December 19, alongside her daughter Chloe Ashton. “Never thought this was possible before I started my Wellness Experiment last year. Thank you to @korey.rowe and Chloe and everyone who encouraged me every step of the way!”
Alongside fitness expert and trainer Korey Rowe, Jennifer shifted her mindset when it came to health and fitness.
“It took curiosity, commitment to the process — not the product — and the science-backed system of nutrition, fitness with intensity and focus on the little things that all added up to feeling better this year, than I did last year,” Jennifer explained in her latest post. “Let’s see it 2026! #fitnessafter50 #likemotherlikedaughter❤️ #wellnessexperiment.”
Shortly after posing in a bikini, Jennifer received support from her followers, including The View cohost Alyssa Farah Griffin, who commented with the fire and raising hands emojis.
Jennifer has been open about her fitness journey and has documented her progress via social media.
In an Instagram post from July, the former GMA3: What You Need To Know cohost recalled the day she “decided to ask myself a question: What would it take to level up my fitness, nutrition and wellness practices?”
She decided to start what she describes as the “Wellness Experiment,” which is all about “leaning into curiosity — discovering what’s possible for your health and wellness.”

“We use three pillars: 🥦 Nutrition & science — I take you through the latest evidence behind trends and practical ways to eat better,” she wrote via Instagram in November. “🏋️♂️ Fitness & movement — Korey builds the blueprint for strength, mobility, and cardiovascular health. 💬 Community & support — through our weekly live Zooms where we connect, learn, and grow together.”
One person inspired by Jennifer’s hard work is her trainer, Rowe.
After Jennifer shared a before-and-after photo of her year-long progress in July, she received encouragement from her longtime friend.
“What a year it’s been. Watching you show up with so much curiosity and commitment has been nothing short of inspiring,” Rowe shared in the comments section. “The way you’ve shared your journey has impacted so many! I am very grateful to be a part of your journey!”
With millions of Americans planning their New Year’s resolutions for the start of 2026, Jennifer is hoping her story may inspire some more people to embark on their own “wellness experiment.” And no, you don’t have to be perfect as you start a journey.
“That’s the point of an experiment: you learn, you adjust, you observe your own data,” she said. “You stay curious about your body and what it can do when you take care of it.”
As 2025 comes to a close, Jennifer also hopes to share even more knowledge in the new year ahead.
After one fan commented on her latest bikini photo, writing, “I love following your journey. Do you have a book that describes your wellness journey?” Jennifer replied, “Working on one❤️!”
