Jen Shah is officially out of prison.
The 52-year-old Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star left the Federal Prison Camp in Bryan, Texas on Wednesday, December 10. Shah had been behind bars since February 17, 2023, meaning she served just under three years — 2 years, 9 months and 23 days — after being convicted of running a telemarketing fraud scheme.
Her rep confirmed the news to People on December 10. After months of insisting she was innocent, Jen eventually entered a guilty plea in July 2022.
“I am sorry. My actions have hurt innocent people,” the reality star said at her sentencing on January 6, 2023. “I want to apologize by saying, I am doing all I can to earn the funds to pay restitution.”
It’s not entirely clear where she’s headed next. A spokesperson for the Bureau of Prisons explained that Jen “transferred on Dec. 10, 2025, from the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) Bryan to community confinement overseen by the Bureau of Prisons’ (BOP) Phoenix Residential Reentry Management (RRM) Office.” Community confinement could mean home detention or a halfway house, but for privacy reasons, her exact location isn’t being disclosed.
Jen and her assistant, Stuart Smith, were originally arrested in March 2021. She was handed a six-and-a-half year sentence, which was later reduced thanks to good behavior and participation in prison programs.
In August, she was given another reduction, bringing her release date up to August 30, 2026. Fast forward to November, it was reported that the Federal Bureau of Prisons approved Shah’s early release for December 10.
“Everyone’s very grateful for the BOP’s decision, especially because it means Jen will be able to reunite with her family for the holidays,” Shah’s manager, Chris Giovanni, told People at the time. “It’s a gift she doesn’t take for granted.”
Naturally, fans are wondering if she’ll ever make a dramatic return to RHOSLC. Andy Cohen recently addressed the speculation on his SiriusXM show, making it crystal clear that Jen will not be reclaiming her reality TV spot.
“I wish her all the best in her next life,” Cohen said, reiterating that Jen won’t be back on the show. When co-host John Hill pressed him on why, Cohen didn’t mince words, “There has to be a line.”
