Chef Gordon Ramsay is revealing that he had skin cancer removed from his face.

The 58-year-old celebrity chef shared two images of the scar from the surgical removal, and reminded his fans to wear sunscreen to help prevent skin cancers from forming.

On Instagram, Gordon wrote, “Grateful and so appreciative for the incredible team at The Skin Associates and their fast reactive work on removing this Basal Cell Carcinoma thank you ! Please don’t forget your sunscreen this weekend ❤️I promise you it’s not a face lift! I’d need a refund……”

The post was “liked” by Hugh Jackman, who has had multiple skin cancer scares over the years, including a removal from his nose in 2013.

Here’s what the Mayo Clinic has published about Basal Cell Carcinomas: “Basal cell carcinoma often appears as a slightly transparent bump on the skin, though it can take other forms. Basal cell carcinoma occurs most often on areas of the skin that are exposed to the sun, such as your head and neck. Most basal cell carcinomas are thought to be caused by long-term exposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation from sunlight. Avoiding the sun and using sunscreen may help protect against basal cell carcinoma.”

We’re wishing Gordon all the best and hope he has a speedy recovery!
