The Golden Bachelor‘s Gerry Turner has some thoughts on the franchise’s next leading man.
66-year old Mel Owens was announced to be the lead on the next season of The Golden Bachelor. When Mel announced that he wouldn’t be giving a rose to any woman over 60, Mel raised some eyebrows.
Now, Gerry from the first Golden Bachelor is sharing his thoughts.

Gerry spoke to Fox News Digital about the comments Mel made. According to Gerry, the leading man of the next season will change his mind once he meets the women competing for his heart.
“I think it would be unfortunate, and I really think he will have a change of heart in this. I think he will see the grace and charm of women who are over 60 and the confidence they carry, and I think he’ll have a change of heart,” Gerry told the outlet.
Gerry gave a piece of advice to Mel and said, “The age thing… ignore the number, deal with the person.”
