Bella Hadid broke her silence on rumors that she had a face-lift or plastic surgery done on her eyes in a stunning makeup-free video.
“They always laugh. People think I’ve gotten a face-lift or gotten that cat-eye thing, whatever it’s called,” Bella, 28, said in an Instagram makeup tutorial video posted by British Vogue on Tuesday, May 13.
“But I’m going to teach you an easier way,” Bella continued about how to get the same look without going under the knife while showing fans her beauty routine and how to go from day to night.
Cat-eye surgery is known as canthoplasty, where the outer edge of the eye is lifted upwards to create a cat-like appearance. It’s also been referred to as fox eye surgery, which also mimics the namesake animal’s look but offers a more subtle result.

“This is going to be insane cause I have no hair stuff with me,” she joked while attempting to pull her brunette locks back as tight as possible. Within 60 seconds she got a “snatcheroo” by having her skin face tightened thanks to the slick bun on the back of her head.
“Belinda is my alter ego, she slays for me during the day. When I get home, Bella again,” the California native said of who she is in public vs. her private life.
The supermodel’s natural complexation was on display, as she showed off her freckles in her no makeup look. Bella then began applying a brow pencil she took from sister Gigi Hadid, who is a Maybelline spokeswoman.
“It’s so nice having a sister who has so much cool stuff I can steal,” she joked.
While she was having fun about the eye surgery speculation, Bella has been open about having a nose job at 14 years old and how she regretted it.
“I wish I had kept the nose of my ancestors,” she told Vogue in the magazine’s April 2022 issue. “I think I would have grown into it.”
Bella then went on to fire back at other plastic surgery speculation.
“People think I fully f–ked with my face because of one picture of me as a teenager looking puffy. I’m pretty sure you don’t look the same now as you did at 13, right? I have never used filler. Let’s just put an end to that. I have no issue with it, but it’s not for me,” the runway queen explained.

Bella also addressed eye work, as she’s been the subject of cat-eye surgery in the past.
“Whoever thinks I’ve gotten my eyes lifted or whatever it’s called — it’s face tape! The oldest trick in the book,” she told the outlet.
Bella went on to explain more insecurities, especially growing up in the shadow of Gigi, 30.
“I was the uglier sister. I was the brunette. I wasn’t as cool as Gigi, not as outgoing,” she recalled to the publication. “That’s really what people said about me. And unfortunately when you get told things so many times, you do just believe it.”
“I always ask myself, how did a girl with incredible insecurities, anxiety, depression, body-image issues, eating issues, who hates to be touched, who has intense social anxiety — what was I doing getting into this business? But over the years I became a good actress,” Bella revealed, while going on to say she earned respect through her work ethic.
“I put on a very smiley face, or a very strong face. I always felt like I had something to prove. People can say anything about how I look, about how I talk, about how I act. But in seven years I never missed a job, canceled a job, was late to a job. No one can ever say that I don’t work my ass off,” she added at the time.
