They’re just like us! Mariah Carey’s teenage twins, daughter Monroe and son Moroccan, cringed when their famous mom shared pictures of them with the Easter bunny — and immediately begged her to hit delete.
The “Heartbreaker” songstress, 56, brought the festive spirit when she shared a carousel of adorable pictures with her 14.1 Instagram followers on Monday, April 21, that documented the Easter bunny’s arrival to their home.
“The greatest gift of being a mom is getting your teenage kids to participate in your Easter hijinks!” she captioned the post. In the carousel, Monroe and Moroccan, 13, smiled next to a life-sized bunny as they posed with their Easter baskets.
The teens, who Mariah shares with ex-husband Nick Cannon clearly weren’t thrilled by the photos. Immediately, they took to the comments section, hoping to convince their mom to remove the images from the internet.
“OMG DELETE IT,” Monroe commented, while her brother Moroccan added, “Why do you do this to me mom” and added a crying emoji.
This wasn’t the first time Mariah seemingly embarrassed her teenage children. Earlier this month, the “We Belong Together” singer made a cameo when she walked into her son’s room during his Twitch live stream on April 3.
About 10 minutes into the stream, Moroccan (or Rocky as his mom and dad nicknamed him) can be heard talking to Mariah and his twin sister off camera before he cut the audio and returned to tell his audience, “Sorry chat, my mom is here.”
His followers were thrilled by the pop star’s appearance, with many eagerly chiming in, “Hey, Mrs. Carey,” before he seemingly got embarrassed.
“Okay, y’all need to get out now. Just, everybody get out,” Rocky said as he pushed his mother and sister outside of his room. “Mom, they can see you. They’re saying, ‘Hi Mariah, I love you!’ Oh my God.”
“Hi, you guys!” Mariah told the audience before leaving. “I love you too.”
Mariah and Nick, 44, who were married from 2008 to 2014, love being parents and have been candid over the years about their close bond with their children. In December 2024, the teens often joined Mariah on stage during her Christmas Time tour, which she said they really enjoyed.
“I think they’re both very talented and smart, and if they want to pursue having a life as an entertainer, then I think they should,” the Glitter actress told People at the time. “It’s a hard kind of life, but they seem to really love performing, so I’m happy for them.”
As for the Wild n’ Out host, who is a father to 12 children with six women — including Monroe and Moroccan, gushed about how his eldest twins were “so intelligent” and “in tune with their own values.”
“It’s my first time having 12-year-olds, and I have a set of them! And we’re having real conversations,” he said during an April 2023 appearance on the “Howie Mandel Does Stuff” podcast. “Because, you know, their lives are far from normal. Their mom is one of the biggest entertainers to ever live and their dad is me.”
