A wardrobe malfunction can be embarrassing, but actress Amanda Seyfried experienced something particularly memorable.
During a recent interview with People Magazine, the star of the upcoming series Long Bright River addressed various topics. However, one particular anecdote from the 2023 Critics Choice Awards emerged as the standout story.
The 39-year-old actress, known for her roles in Mamma Mia! and Letters to Juliet, described wearing a vintage ensemble that had been “kind of sewn together” for the occasion. The dress, however, proved problematic as the evening progressed, leading to an unexpected incident.
“My boobs fell out of my dress at the 2023 Critics Choice Awards,” Seyfried explained. “It was kind of sewn together and it started truly falling apart, literally falling off of me on the red carpet, and I think there were even interviews where I’m saying it’s breaking off.”
The actress elaborated on the incident, revealing that the wardrobe mishap occurred during an interaction with Glen Powell.
“I was talking to Glen Powell in the corner near my table, and we were joking around about something and I lifted my arms up, and my boobs were just out. My dress fell apart,” she told People Magazine.

Seyfried commended Powell’s response to the situation, describing him as a “gentleman.”
“We both screamed, and like the gentleman he is, he covered me. He didn’t look… I think. None of us were expecting that, but that dress had truly just given up.”
That year, Seyfried received an award for her performance in The Dropout, and fortunately, someone provided their jacket for her to wear during her acceptance speech.
