Gayle King and Katy Perry are going to space soon on the next Blue Origin flight.
Gayle King, who has previously spoken her fear of flying, appeared near tears when discussing her decision on CBS This Morning. She says they asked her around Thanksgiving and while her initial answer was no, she thought about it and had her 70th birthday and that combined with discussions with her family and Oprah changed her mind. She expected Oprah to tell her not to but Oprah reminded her of how moved she was by William Shatner’s description of his experience on this trip.
Katy Perry is aiming to be the first popstar in space ahead of her reportedly flopping tour.
