“Jessica and Cash have had their ups and downs over the years, but they always said that divorce was never an option,” the source tells Life & Style. “Well, that’s all changed.”
The insider adds, “After a lot of heartfelt and tearful conversations, and marriage counseling, they’ve decided to split up.”
Neither Jessica nor Cash, 45, has publicly responded to the reports. However, they both hinted that there was trouble in paradise before the rumors began to circulate. On January 4, Jessica attended a pre-Golden Globes party in West Hollywood without Cash. Additionally, she continued to fuel split rumors by ditching her wedding band for the outing.
Meanwhile, Cash was also seen without his wedding band during an outing in Los Angeles just one week before reports of their split circulated.
After noting that she and Cash tried to schedule regular date nights without their phones so that they could “just talk,” the Good Luck Chuck actress said the dates weren’t “consistent.”
“I would say that being able to communicate when you’re unhappy and nipping it right away instead of letting it sort of, like, fester, and then you have, like, animosity and it explodes,” Jessica added.
Despite admitting that they didn’t have as many intimate dates as they would have liked, Jessica insisted that they were putting in to work to make their marriage last.
“We’re on 17 years. He basically stole my 20s and my 30s,” she continued. “So, we have the friendship and the comfort of, like, ‘You’re not going anywhere,’ and so, sometimes, you don’t treat those people the best. You don’t consider their feelings in the way that you would consider other people’s feelings.”
“Life’s a life journey,” the Honey actress said. “I think if you’re both, every day, deciding to do it, it’s going to work out regardless of the drama, regardless if anything happens, if you’re both like, ‘I want this. I want to figure this out,’ nothing can really break that.”
