The holiday season is extra merry for Joan Vassos and fiancé Chock Chapple as the Golden Bachelorette alums prepare to spend their first Christmas together. Once the clock hit December 1, Joan and Chock got into the spirit by putting up their first Christmas tree together.
“Our first golden Christmas. Special thank you to my friend @kateslaytonlettering for this beautiful custom ornament! #newtraditions #thegoldenbachelorette,” the pair captioned their joint Instagram post on Sunday, December 1.
Joan, 61, and Chock, 61, dressed casually and for the occasion while decorating their multicolored mini tree with their personalized wood ornament. The decoration was highlighted in one photo of the carousel, which featured an image of a wedding gown and tuxedo with the text, “The Golden Bachelorette. Engaged 2024.”
Next to the Christmas tree hung more than 10 stockings for Joan and Chock’s blended family, filled with children and grandchildren. Above that flashed a cement horse wearing a Santa hat. Chock’s daughter, Taylor Chapple, thanked Joan for her new stocking in the comments section of the post.
The former Golden Bachelorette responded, “Love that I’m running out of room for stockings! Blessed!”
Another fan wrote, “Love it! That’s a ton of stockings. How many children are there between the two of you?” Joan replied, explaining she has four kids, Nicholas, Erica, Allison and Luke, two grandkids and two son-in-laws.
In addition to Taylor, Chock shares son Tyler with ex-wife Heather Chapple.
Fans watched Chock and Joan’s love story unfold during The Golden Bachelorette season 1, leading to their on camera engagement in November.
“Joan, you will never be invisible to me. I’m gonna tell you that I love you every day. I promise that. And I look into those gorgeous eyes, and I just can’t believe this is happening,” Chock said while down on one knee. “I still think I’m in a dream and I’m just gonna wake up. But Joan, I love you. And I want you to be in my life.”
The pair continues to live separately after their summer 2024 engagement as Joan resides in Maryland and Chuck’s roots are in Kansas. However, they decided to purchase a property in New York City for special alone time.
“We’re going to be going back and forth between Kansas and Maryland and to New York,” the insurance executive told People on November 14 alongside his fiancée. “We’ll have a full-time place in New York and whenever we get the opportunity, we’re going to be there. We’re going to get it figured out this next year.”
Later in the interview, Joan gushed over their shared holiday plans.
“Our kids have gotten to know each other a little bit over the phone and texting, but they’re finally going to get to spend four or five days together,” Joan said. “We can’t wait for them to be together because we feel like they are going to have a lot of fun with each other. It’s weird at this age to welcome a new stepsibling into your life and that’s what it’s going to be for them.”
