    • YouTube essayist Be Kind Rewind is back with a nearly hour long video on Michelle Yeoh. The video starts by examining Yeoh’s early career and big breakouts in Hong Kong cinema and eventual casting in the 1997 James Bond film Tomorrow Never Dies.

    • She then covers Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, the racism Yeoh faced in the US and her exclusion from the 2001 Best Actress race. The video moves on to Yeoh’s post-Crouching Tiger career, including her role in 2005s Memoirs of a Geisha and her continued work in both the US and China.

    • The video then moves on to Crazy Rich Asian, the push for more representation of people of color in mainstream films, her newfound popularity in the US in the wake of the hit movie. We see how that led to Everything Everywhere All at Once, and how the movie, her performance and the moment led to her win.

    • The video also features insight and an interview with Nancy Wang Yuen, author of the book Reel Inequality: Hollywood Actors and Racism.
