This feature, called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/5\/14\/24155321\/google-search-ai-results-page-gemini-overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AI Overviews<\/a>, offers an AI-generated answer to certain queries. But it also pushes your list of links further down the page, which makes it a bit annoying to scroll past when you want to do your own research \u2014 and it will get even more annoying once <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/5\/21\/24161724\/google-ai-search-results-ads-test\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Google starts stuffing ads into it<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">But even though Google doesn\u2019t let you disable the feature, there are a few ways around it. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">One of the best ways to \u201cturn off\u201d the feature is to reconfigure your browser\u2019s default search engine options.
