After appearing on The Bachelor<\/em><\/a> or The Bachelorette<\/em><\/a>, plenty of contestants go on to host podcasts or star on additional seasons of the franchise, but arguably the No. 1 pastime for Bachelor Nation<\/a> members is writing.<\/p>\n Tons of former Bachelor<\/em> and Bachelorette<\/em> leads have written books over the years<\/a>, including Hannah Brown<\/strong><\/a>, Matt James<\/strong><\/a> and Rachel Lindsay<\/strong><\/a>. Brown, who appeared in season 23 of The Bachelor<\/em> before leading season 15 of The Bachelorette<\/em>, said that her memoir, God Bless This Mess<\/em><\/a>, was an attempt to tell her own version of events that had previously been documented on TV.<\/p>\n \u201cMy life has been shared very openly [and] vulnerably through a lens of a television show. It\u2019s always been for entertainment,\u201d she explained on Us Weekly<\/em>\u2018s \u201cHere for the Right Reasons\u201d podcast<\/a> in November 2021. \u201cAnd while a lot of that was my real life, there\u2019s a lot of parts that fall through the cracks [and] that are filtered out. Instead of it being told through a funnel of other people, I really wanted to take the time and be able to share my story my way and the most authentic way.\u201d<\/p>\n James, for his part, wrote about things he claims he discussed that never made it to air during his season of The Bachelor<\/em>, which aired in early 2021. \u201cI shared all those things so that the women who were pursuing me \u2014 as well as the viewers \u2014 to have context to why I was the way I was,\u201d the former football player told Us<\/em><\/a> in May 2022, referring to stories about his past hardships that he detailed in his book, First Impressions<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd when they didn\u2019t have that context, there are just a lot of things didn\u2019t add up.\u201d<\/p>\n
