NASCAR has laid down the law after a wild fight between drivers Kyle Busch<\/strong><\/a> and Ricky Stenhouse Jr.<\/strong><\/a> shocked the racing world.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stenhouse Jr., 36, and Busch, 39, came to blows after NASCAR\u2019s All-Star Race on Sunday, May 19 <\/span>\u2014 which NASCAR shared via social media<\/a> \u2014 after Stenhouse\u2019s No. 47 Chevy was bumped during the race by Busch\u2019s No. 8 Chevy.<\/span><\/p>\n

On Wednesday, May 22, NASCAR announced<\/a> Stenhouse had been fined $75,000 for punching Busch. The organization also suspended two crew members from his JTG Daugherty Racing Team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Officials also indefinitely suspended Stenhouse Jr.\u2019s father, Richard Stenhouse<\/strong>, for violations of the NASCAR Member Code of Conduct.<\/span><\/p>\n

Stenhouse Jr.\u2019s team mechanic Clint Myrick<\/strong> was suspended for the next eight Cup Series races for his role in the fight, while tuner Keith Matthews<\/strong> was suspended for the next four Cup Series events.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI think it\u2019s fair to say that when you have crew members and family members that put their hands on our drivers, we\u2019re going to react,\u201d NASCAR senior vice president of competition Elton Sawyer<\/strong> said Wednesday on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. \u201cThere\u2019s not a lot of detail I\u2019m going to get into due to the fact that these are appealable penalties, and I want to make sure that we\u2019re fair to that process.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Sawyer continued, \u201cWith that being said, and we\u2019ve been consistent about this, when crew members and family members get involved, we are going to react. That\u2019s exactly what we did.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Stenhouse Jr. was only able to complete two of the race\u2019s 200 laps after his car was hit by Busch. In a post-race interview, Stenhouse Jr. indicated he was going to \u201chandle it.\u201d When asked to elaborate, he said, \u201cYou can just watch afterward.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
