Lainey Wilson<\/strong><\/a> reached a major country music milestone! After her killer performance of \u201cHang Tight Honey\u201d during The Voice<\/em><\/a> season 25 finale on Tuesday, May 21, she was presented with an invitation to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry by coach Reba McEntire<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n Not only did she slay the tune and earned a huge honor, Lainey, 32, wowed with her incredible style. She wore her trademark bell bottom pants, paring them with a black bandeau top, matching blazer and her ever-present cowboy hat.<\/p>\n The \u201cGod Bless Texas\u201d songstress is fresh off of taking home the coveted Entertainer of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year trophies at the Academy of Country Music Awards on May 16.<\/p>\n For that event, Lainey \u200bwent braless in red pantsuit<\/a> with a glittering lapel, flared trousers and a matching cowboy hat while walking the red carpet and accepting her awards. During her performance that opened the show, the Louisiana native donned skintight red pants with lace-up sides while matching them with a red corset top.<\/p>\n Lainey wasn\u2019t the only major country star to appear on The Voice<\/em>\u2018s season 25 finale. Jelly Roll<\/strong> and Thomas Rhett<\/strong> also performed. Keith Urban<\/strong> sang his new hit \u201cMessed Up as Me\u201d on part one of the finale on Monday, May 20.<\/p>\n The \u201cCountry\u2019s Cool Again\u201d singer revealed in May 2023 that she tried out for both The Voice<\/em> and American Idol<\/em><\/a> and never made it to Hollywood on either of the singing competitions.<\/p>\n After performing on Idol<\/em>\u2018s season 21 finale, Lainey shared, \u201cI tried out seven times. I took the long way around, but finally made it on American Idol<\/em>. I never made it past the first round.\u201d In the same interview, she said she also unsuccessfully auditioned for The Voice<\/em>, although she didn\u2019t reveal when that took place.<\/p>\n American Idol<\/em> judge Luke Bryan<\/strong> was shocked by Lainey\u2019s numerous rejections<\/a>, telling Country Countdown USA in December 2023, \u201cI didn\u2019t know that. That was the first time I heard that. But I\u2019ll go see my producers today and find out what happened. I\u2019m glad she didn\u2019t take the Idol letdown to heart. We don\u2019t always get it right.\u201d<\/p>\n Lainey\u2019s big break came in 2020 when she made her debut at Nashville\u2019s Grand Ole Opry and her song \u201cThings a Man Oughta Know\u201d became a summer hit. She won her first Grammy in February 2024, taking home Best Country Album for Bell Bottom Country<\/em>.<\/p>\n
