Even critics of the idea find it intriguing.<\/p>\n<p>Could Taylor Swift join the MCU? She is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2024\/04\/taylor-swift-net-worth-billionaire-status-forbes-eras-tour\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">recently minted billionaire<\/a>, and nothing that she does can avoid major headlines.<\/p>\n<p>And if she joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe, she would get to put her acting chops on display. (Remember, Taylor has acted on screen before)<\/p>\n<p>Taylor wouldn\u2019t be the first famous singer to join the MCU. Some are very well-known. Others are relatively obscure. <\/p>\n<p>Dazzler may be an unfamiliar name to <em>normies<\/em>, but she\u2019s a very well-known Marvel character. Specifically, from X-Men.<\/p>\n<p>While there\u2019s more to share about Dazzler in a moment, we should note that fans (and perhaps studios) have been connecting Taylor with Dazzler for nearly a <em>decade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"X-Men: Apocalypse | Official Trailer [HD] | 20th Century FOX\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PfBVIHgQbYk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-this-idea-has-been-around-since-2016\">This idea has been around since 2016<\/h2>\n<p><em>X-Men: Apocalypse<\/em> came out in May of 2016. That film was largely a disappointment to fans of, let\u2019s face it, Marvel\u2019s <em>best <\/em>line of comics. But the film also included an easter egg: a Dazzler album cover in which the mutant character appeared to resemble Taylor Swift.<\/p>\n<p>A lot has changed since then. Disney\u2019s acquisition of Fox was a horror for countless writers, actors, and others. It may be one of the final death blows to the entertainment industry as we know it. But it <em>did <\/em>get X-Men and related Marvel properties back under the shared Marvel umbrella where they belong. (A silver lining, but <em>so <\/em>not worth it)<\/p>\n<p>Now, the idea of Taylor playing Dazzler has resurfaced. This time, she could play the mutant as the MCU continues to unveil more X-Men characters.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Deadpool &amp; Wolverine | Official Trailer | In Theaters July 26\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/73_1biulkYk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-could-dazzler-show-up-in-deadpool-and-wolverine-in-july-2024\">Could Dazzler show up in \u2018Deadpool and Wolverine\u2019 in July 2024?<\/h2>\n<p>Taylor Swift is longtime friends with Ryan Reynolds, who plays the titular Deadpool in <em>Deadpool and Wolverine<\/em>. The character\u2019s name is Wade Wilson, he\u2019s a little zany and a lot R-rated, and he\u2019s buddying up with the most recognizable X-Men character: Wolverine.<\/p>\n<p>This film will feature Cassandra Nova as a primary antagonist. Cassandra Nova, in comics, is Professor X\u2019s (literal) evil twin. In the womb, Charles Xavier sensed her evil and strangled her, but she somehow returned. In comics, she instigated a Sentinel attack against Genosha, resulting in the slaughter of millions of mutants. (She\u2019s also how Emma Frost gained her iconic secondary mutation, her organic diamond form).<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s good that Cassandra Nova is appearing in a <em>Deadpool <\/em>film rather than in something more serious. She\u2019s not a fan-favorite villain, despite her importance in several (Earth-616) comics storylines.
