It\u2019s been more than a decade since The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills<\/em><\/a> premiered in October 2010. Since then, we\u2019ve seen \u2018wives \u2014 and plenty of side-characters \u2014 come and go. While series OG Lisa Vanderpump<\/a> <\/strong>exited the Housewives franchise during season 9 in 2019, her former \u201chouseguest\u201d Cedric Martinez<\/strong><\/a> left years sooner. Fans want to know why Cedric left RHOBH<\/em> and why his relationship with Lisa went downhill.\n<\/p>\n Fans have been wondering what happened to the handsome London native after his short-lived reality TV career ended thanks to a very public falling out with Lisa. In a 2017 interview on Kate Casey\u2019s Reality Life<\/em> podcast<\/a>, Cedric opened up about his life after Housewives<\/em> \u2014 and spilled the tea on the demise of his and Lisa\u2019s relationship.<\/p>\n During his chat with Kate, Cedric revealed that he had known Lisa and her husband, Ken Todd<\/strong>, for nearly a decade before he relocated from the UK to LA to help them open their upscale Beverly Hills eatery Villa Blanca in 2009. During this time, Lisa quietly auditioned for RHOBH<\/em> and mentioned that she had a \u201cgay houseguest,\u201d which piqued the interest of producers.<\/p>\n \u201cSo she got a call back and they insisted that we do the audition together at the house,\u201d he said. But Lisa didn\u2019t hear back from Bravo until a year later. According to Cedric, he and the restaurateur weren\u2019t on good terms when she finally got the call. Because Lisa had sold producers on the idea of filming with Cedric, she told them a \u201clittle white lie\u201d and said that the sexy waiter still lived under her roof.<\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t long before Lisa called Cedric to \u201c[apologize] in her way\u201d in an effort to convince him to move back in and appear on the show. Cedric agreed. Despite making up, their already fractured friendship took another hit when Cedric broke up with Lisa\u2019s good friend Lance Bass<\/a> <\/strong>after he caught the ex-boy bander cheating.<\/p>\n Cedric said that Lisa wanted him and Lance \u2014 who is now married to artist Michael Turchin<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 to stay together, claiming that Lisa thought his relationship with Lance would garner publicity for Villa Blanca. \u201cI understand her thinking process because she has made a lot of sacrifices in her life and she chose a certain path over something else,\u201d said Cedric. \u201cAnd I wasn\u2019t willing to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n Rather than reigniting his romance with Lance, Cedric started dating another Villa Blanca waiter \u2014 which Lisa did not approve of. Instead of following Lisa\u2019s advice to split from his new flame, Cedric moved out of her home. Though he went on to describe Lisa as \u201cvery controlling,\u201d he was quick to applaud her business savvy: \u201cShe has her hands on everything. And this is how she becomes a success. She\u2019s very smart, so clever.\u201d<\/p>\n Cedric also said that he believes Lisa was intent on having him join RHOBH<\/em> so that he would refrain from spilling secrets about her marriage to Ken. \u201cBefore the show, I think, they felt threatened. Lisa, at the time, was a bit lonely,\u201d said Cedric. \u201cI\u2019d been around her life for like 15, 16 years, so I became a confidante and she confided in me, and I was there for her and I loved her, and I still do\u2026She kind of opened up a lot more and I found out a lot more stuff \u2014 a lot more than I thought. Any marriages have their struggles, any friendship has their struggles. I\u2019ve never divulged anything private.\u201d<\/p>\n Cedric never spoke poorly of Lisa and Ken\u2019s over four decade-long union to the press. In fact, he told Reality Life<\/em> that \u201cthey are an amazing team\u201d and \u201cwill stick together no matter what.\u201d Still, that didn\u2019t stop Lisa from worrying that Cedric might sell stories about the couple to the media. \u201cI will sue if he sells any stories about me,\u201d she told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in 2011. \u201cI feel absolutely betrayed.\u201d<\/p>\n As fans might recall of Cedric\u2019s time on RHOBH<\/em>, he delved deep into his troubled childhood, revealing that he was once homeless and raised by a prostitute mother. Cedric has claimed that Lisa encouraged him to share this information \u2014 which he said made him \u201cuncomfortable\u201d \u2014 as to make it seem like she saved him from a life in shambles. Because of his personal revelations, Cedric believes he suffered a great deal professionally, which ultimately caused him to have suicidal thoughts.<\/p>\n \u201cIt made my life so impossible. I was pushed so hard that I did try to OD. It was just too much. For me, after where I come from, and I loved them so much; I trusted them so much and after what happened nobody wanted to hire me,\u201d the former food service worker and aspiring actor said. \u201cI was even talking to Days Of Our Lives<\/em> \u2014 that went down the drain. I would get disinvited to carpets \u2014 which is not a big deal, it\u2019s just what it represents. I could not get work in a restaurant.
