Chicago Fire<\/em> has avoided the cancellation axe that took down other top TV shows<\/a>, including Blue Bloods<\/em> and Young Sheldon<\/em><\/a> \u2014 but sources exclusively tell Life & Style<\/em> it\u2019s set to torch some of its leading actors.<\/p>\n Fan favorite Eamonn Walker<\/strong>, 61, who has portrayed Battalion Chief Wallace Boden since the show\u2019s 2012 debut and has appeared in 250 episodes, is being smoked after the current season.<\/p>\n Walker\u2019s departure comes on the heels of the announcement that longtime cast member Kara Killmer<\/strong>, who plays paramedic Sylvie Brett, will also leave the show.<\/p>\n A source says it\u2019s just business as usual now as TV mega-producer Dick Wolf<\/strong>, the creator of all three One Chicago<\/em> series, has already booted big names Sam Waterston<\/strong> and Camryn Manheim<\/strong> from Law & Order<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n Chicago Fire<\/em><\/a> remains a TV titan, pulling in more viewers than the Law & Order<\/em> shows and its sister series \u2014 Chicago P.D.<\/em> and Chicago Med<\/em> \u2014 but has still seen ratings dip 5 percent this season.<\/p>\n \u201cNone of Dick\u2019s nine shows has been outright canceled, but pretty much all of them have let some of their mainstay actors go to control costs \u2014 especially after the actors\u2019 and writers\u2019 strikes cost them hundreds of millions of dollars<\/a>,\u201d says a source. \u201cIt makes good business sense, since shows like Chicago Fire<\/em> are expensive to produce.\u201d<\/p>\n Adds the insider, \u201cBut Eamonn\u2019s character was so beloved that fans of the show are certainly going to miss him \u2014 and the remaining cast members are looking over their shoulders to see who\u2019s next!\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
