\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n Charlie Hunnam<\/strong><\/a> is talking about his exit from the Fifty Shades of Grey<\/strong><\/a><\/em> film franchise, over 10 years after he dropped out of the project.<\/p>\n The former Sons of Anarchy<\/em> star was originally cast as Christian Grey opposite Dakota Johnson<\/strong><\/a> as Anastasia Steele. While he was replaced by Jamie Dornan<\/strong><\/a>, she stayed on with the franchise.<\/p>\n Back in June 2014, Charlie <\/strong>talked about the role.<\/p>\n \u201cI felt like I had an interesting take on that character and felt like I could have done a good job of playing Christian Grey, otherwise I wouldn\u2019t have taken it on in the first place,\u201d Charlie <\/strong>told Life & Style<\/em> at the time. <\/p>\n \u201cWhen you put the time into something like that and a character comes alive in your mind, it\u2019s heartbreaking not to be able to play him,\u201d he added. \u201cIt was definitely kind of heartbreaking having to say goodbye to that character and not bring it to life.\u201d<\/p>\n So, what is he saying now?<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n TMZ <\/a>caught up with Charlie on Friday (May 17) and asked him about dropping out.<\/p>\n \u201cAw man, can\u2019t talk about this!\u201d Charlie <\/strong>initially said when the reporter brought up the subject.<\/p>\n The reporter asked, \u201cHow has that [the decision to pull out of the film] worked out for you, 10 years on.\u201d<\/p>\n Charlie <\/strong>responded, \u201cI\u2019m not nearly as rich as I would have been.\u201d<\/p>\n He was also asked if he changes the channel when the movie comes on TV. \u201cI have not seen it, but that\u2019s not by design. I want to see it.
