The West doesn\u2019t carry on without women.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd they understand that they were basically trying to keep their families clean and fed, and women were worked to death. <\/p>\n
\u201cAnd if they lost their man, there\u2019s every opportunity that their life could become something unimaginable, bad. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s why Sienna\u2019s character moves so quickly to bring a man into her life, because she knows how vulnerable she could be, and she doesn\u2019t care about her reputation to do it. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cAnd we would taboo that now: \u2018That\u2019s too quick, she\u2019s moved too quick.\u2019<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI am not looking for kudos because women are in it. For me, they\u2019re not in it, they actually dominate the movie, to be honest. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cEvery one of those women dominate when they\u2019re on the screen.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nEarlier this month, Kevin vowed to bring only the female actors from his new film as his VIP guests to its world premiere at Cannes.<\/p>\n
\nHe told People: \u201cI\u2019m taking seven of the women that are in the movie with me.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cFor Cannes, I really want to take these women who made a huge contribution to this movie.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe \u2018Dances with Wolves\u2019 creator directed, co-wrote and stars in the new film, which features a string of overlapping stories of 19th century settlers as they clash with Indigenous people and each other.<\/p>\n
\nKevin added to People about how the saga portrays hardships females faced during the time: \u201cWomen are the reason the country goes forward. They were taken often against their own wishes.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cThey were taken advantage of and they were resilient. I couldn\u2019t tell the story unless it revolved around them.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSienna appeared on the red carpet at Cannes alongside Kevin and her other \u2018Horizon\u2019 co-stars on Sunday (19.05.24) with her boyfriend Oli Green, 27, and 11-year-old lookalike daughter Marlowe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
