Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have been married since 2010<\/p>\n

The 44-year-old actor – who has Hazel, ten, and Violet, seven, with actress Emily Blunt<\/a> – has revealed that his kids think Emily, his wife, is much cooler than he is.<\/p>\n

John – who actually involved his children in the process of making ‘IF’, his new animated fantasy film – told PEOPLE: “When they found out I that I was going to do it, it was really exciting because it was the first time that I had ever involved them in anything.<\/p>\n

“I was pretty sure that they thought I was an accountant before this because their mom was Mary Poppins and in ‘Jungle Cruise’. So she was off to a very biased start with our girls.”<\/p>\n

John recently revealed how his kids inspired ‘IF’.<\/p>\n

\nThe actor – who wrote, produced and directed the film – observed that his kids “disappear into a magical world that we, as parents, aren\u2019t allowed into”.<\/p>\n

\nSpeaking to PEOPLE, John shared: “I said to Emily, \u2018That would make an amazing movie.\u2019”<\/p>\n

\nJohn also recalled the COVID-19 pandemic being a turning point for his children.<\/p>\n

\nHe explained: “They started doing fewer imaginary games, and they started to let the real world in. They started asking bigger questions and then finally said, \u2018Are we going to be okay?’<\/p>\n

\n“I said to Emily, \u2018That\u2019s kind of the definition of growing up, isn\u2019t it? When you let fear in?\u2019 I thought, \u2018I have to do this movie right now to show them that magical world they created, they can go back.'”<\/p>\n

\nUltimately, John’s children were pivotal in the production process of the film.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: “I was just sketching all the IFs as I was writing and I would show them. I\u2019m a terrible artist, so then once I started interfacing with real artists and talking about how it would really look, they got really excited.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
