Expedia says Rathi Murthy and Sreenivas Rachamadugu, respectively its CTO and senior vice president of core services product & engineering, are no longer employed at the travel booking company.<\/p>\n
In a statement shared with Bloomberg<\/a> and elsewhere<\/a>, Expedia said Murthy and Rachamadugu are \u201cno longer employed at Expedia Group\u201d due to an unspecified \u201cviolation of company policy.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019re actively searching to fill these roles and remain confident in our technology, strategy, and employees,\u201d the company said. \u201cDue to confidentiality, we will not be making any further comments on the matter.\u201d<\/p>\n TechCrunch reached out to Expedia for confirmation and additional comment. We will update this post if we hear back.<\/p>\n Murthy\u2019s and Rachamadugu\u2019s departures appear to be unexpected. Murthy spoke to TechCrunch about the new AI-powered features<\/a> announced earlier this week, and she reportedly gave a presentation on those features at an Expedia conference with business partners.<\/p>\n They both joined Expedia in 2021, coming from TechCrunch\u2019s then-parent company Verizon Media (now Yahoo).<\/p>\n This isn\u2019t the company\u2019s only recent leadership change. Ariane Gorin, who was announced as Expedia Group\u2019s new CEO in February<\/a>, officially took over this week.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
