The caption provided even more dramatic flare, however, evoking (Christian) religious imagery.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe devil wouldn\u2019t be attacking you so hard if there [weren\u2019t] something Holy inside you,\u201d the post claimed. \u201cThieves don\u2019t break into empty houses.\u201d<\/p>\nOn Instagram, Amy Rachelle King, better known as Amy Duggar, shared a quote: \u201cThe devil wouldn\u2019t be attackign you so hard if there [weren\u2019t] something Holy inside you. Essentially, if you have something that your enemy wants, covets, or fears, they will attack you in some capacity, perhaps to take it from you or silence you.<\/p>\n

(It sounds callous to say, but having one more lock on your door or slightly smaller windows than the person next door can help avoid a random break-in)<\/p>\n
But, sure, if a thief is doing a targeted raid to steal something specific from a house that they have cased and monitored, then yeah, they\u2019re not breaking into an empty house.<\/p>\nAmy Duggar seems happier than ever on Instagram. Well, only one real \u201cenemy\u201d comes to mind when we think of Amy. That would be Jim Bob Duggar.<\/p>\n
In a sense, he \u2014 as a notorious scumbag \u2014 is the enemy of every decent person on the planet. But one could argue that he is, on a much more personal level, Amy\u2019s foe. And the implication is clear: Jim Bob wouldn\u2019t want Amy to STFU if she didn\u2019t have tea to spill.<\/p>\nAmy Rachelle King, better known as Amy Duggar, wore a brown see-through top marked with polka dots and recommended it to her followers.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nBecause this is Amy, we should also consider that she could be referring to the literal <\/em>devil. <\/p>\nFor many of us, \u201cthe devil\u201d is just a sexy red man who makes for an easy Halloween costume. Even many Christians do not believe in a literal Satan figure.<\/p>\n
However, some do. A Christian conservative like Amy might believe that Lucifer himself is literally working through evil men \u2014 like Jim Bob \u2014 to make the world a worse place, and to act against Amy.<\/p>\nAmy Duggar King took to her Instagram Stories to share her plans for her family\u2019s future while dressed like a normal human being in the summer. In her family, this outfit is \u201cscandalous.\u201d<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nWe should note that, whether we take Amy\u2019s post as metaphor or a literal expression of her religious beliefs, it\u2019s not especially cut and dry.<\/p>\n
It does not, for example, mean that anyone who is under attack must be \u201choly\u201d and thus under siege by \u201cdevils.\u201d<\/p>\n
For example, a lot of people came after Josh Duggar. But they weren\u2019t devils, and he was not holy. The trick, it would seem, is figuring out which side is good and which is bad. But that\u2019s always the case.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
