Reyna Roberts<\/strong><\/a> has nothing but love for Beyonc\u00e9<\/strong><\/a> and her involvement in country music.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m so grateful that she\u2019s in this space and that she\u2019s also allowed other country artists, like me, to be on the album because a lot of people don\u2019t know about Black people in country music,\u201d Roberts, 26, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> on Thursday, May 16, while on the red carpet for the Academy of Country Music Awards<\/em><\/a>. \u201cAnd just the fact that it took her bringing us up to the top to even be actually acknowledged by most people.\u201d<\/p>\n

Roberts first hit the country music scene in 2020 when she went viral for her cover of Carrie Underwood<\/strong>\u2019s \u201cDrinking Alone.\u201d Her take on the song earned praise from Underwood herself and Mickey Guyton<\/strong>. Later that year, Roberts dropped her debut single \u201cStompin\u2019 Grounds.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been making our own achievements and doing our own things,\u201d Roberts explained. \u201cWe\u2019ve been doing great, but like, it really took Beyonc\u00e9 to lift us up to get the world outside of country music to see that we\u2019re here, which has been imperative and essential.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Beyonc\u00e9 dropped Cowboy Carter<\/em> in March, Roberts was one of the countless Black country musicians featured on the album. She sings on the track \u201cBlackbird\u201d alongside Beyonc\u00e9, Brittney Spencer<\/strong>, Tanner Adell<\/strong> and Tiera Kennedy<\/strong>. Beyonc\u00e9 also collaborated with Dolly Parton<\/strong>, Miley Cyrus<\/strong>, Post Malone<\/strong>, Willie Nelson<\/strong> and more for the record.<\/p>\n
