A right of passage! Emmy Rossum<\/strong><\/a> and husband Sam Esmail<\/strong> <\/a>had a day of family fun when they took their 19-month-old daughter to Disneyland.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cMy daughter\u2019s first time and she agrees \u2014 it is the happiest place! So much joy with friends, family and Star Wars<\/em>!!! @disneyland @disneyparks #DisneylandHolidays \ud83c\udf32 #DisneylandChristmas \ud83c\udf32,\u201d Rossum, 36, wrote via Instagram Friday, December 9, alongside a carousel of images<\/a> from the big outing.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In the sweet snaps, the Shameless<\/em><\/a> alum\u2019s little one rode the \u201cIt\u2019s a Small World\u201d boats, met Ariel and Snow White and visited the castle with her dad, 45. For the day trip, the toddler donned a pastel blue onesie with a matching blue coat, white sneakers and pigtails while Rossum and Esmail opted to blend in with the crowd by rocking dark colored ensembles.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s daughter wasn\u2019t the only one to get in on the fun. The Angelyne<\/em> actress shared a photo of herself standing beside a giant Christmas tree as well as a selfie smiling in front of a line of Star Wars<\/em> Stormtroopers.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following their mini getaway, the New York native\u2019s friends took to social media to celebrate the family\u2019s visit to the happiest place on earth.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cYOU DID IT,\u201d Rossum\u2019s Crowded Room<\/em> costar, Amanda Seyfried<\/strong><\/a>, commented under the Instagram post, while model Martha Hunt<\/strong><\/a> wrote, \u201cCuties!!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Rossum and Esmail first met on the set of Comet<\/em> in 2013 and the director proposed two years later. The duo then tied the knot in 2017 and Mystic River<\/em> star used a baby bump photo to announce<\/a> that she had given birth in May 2021.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c5.24.21 On a sunny Monday morning, at 8:13AM, we welcomed our daughter into the world<\/a>,\u201d she captioned maternity shoot photos at the time.<\/span><\/p>\n

Later that same month, Rossum posted a photo of her infant<\/a> while urging her followers to get vaccinated against COVID-19.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was pregnant, I got vaccinated,\u201d the new mom wrote via Instagram. \u201cNot only did we have a healthy, beautiful baby<\/a> girl but we also just learned our daughter now has antibodies. In short, stop being an irresponsible idiot and get the vaccine.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Ahead of her pregnancy, the Golden Globe nominee opened up about being raised by a single mother and how that affected her growing up.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI had a single mom. I have a single mom. This isn\u2019t a secret,\u201d she wrote via Facebook in April 2017. \u201cGrowing up in a school \u2014 and a world \u2014 filled with mostly two parent units was difficult for me<\/a>. Father\u2019s Day still is difficult for me. I\u2019m not really sure how to celebrate. In the weeks leading up to it, I sense it coming like a wave approaching. Sometimes I try to ignore it. \u2026 Sometimes, I take my mom to brunch and get her a present, to show her how much I value her.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Rossum continued, \u201cShe really was both a mother and a father for me. I don\u2019t like her to know that it still causes me pain \u2014 30 years later \u2014 lest she feel somehow that she wasn\u2019t enough. She was always enough. She is enough. She wasn\u2019t perfect, no one is, but for me she was the best mom ever.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
