On Thursday night, Jersey Shore took a break from its typical focus on drinking, partying and\/or any sort of drama between cast members.<\/p>\n
Why?<\/p>\n

\u201cIn loving memory. Paul DelVecchio Sr. May 7, 1952 \u2013 May 4, 2024.\u201d<\/p>\n
No other information was provided by producers at the time on the show itself\u2026 but we\u2019ve uncovered an obituary for Paul D. DelVecchio Sr. that states he was 71 years old when he died.<\/p>\n

(Photo by Santiago Felipe\/Getty Images for MTV)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThe aforementioned obituary looked back on DelVecchio\u2019s life as a business owner. <\/p>\n
He ran P. DelVecchio Remodeling \u201cfor many years before he retired,\u201d according to the tribute, which continued: <\/p>\n
\u201cCarpentry wasn\u2019t just a job for him, it was his passion.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe was a \u201cJack of all trades.\u201d He could build or fix anything. He loved his family and being in nature. He was a devoted father and grandfather. He loved walking and spending time at the ocean. <\/p>\n
\u201cHis favorite pastime was playing the slots at the local casino and he never refused a good family card game. He was a man of many talents. \u201cMy dad had a stroke, so I\u2019m scared to leave him,\u201d Pauly said during an episode back then, referencing his move from Rhode Island to Las Vegas. \u201cOne thing about my family [is] they don\u2019t ask for help. They never tell you they\u2019re hurt.\u201d<\/p>\n
Paul Sr. chimed in on that episode, assuring son that he\u2019ll be \u201calright\u201d and joking that he couldn\u2019t come out and watch Pauly\u2019s DJ gigs because he\u2019ll \u201cget a headache.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a confessional, Pauly added: <\/p>\n
\u201cIf I get this gig and have to move to Vegas, it\u2019s going to be really hard. I want to be close to my father. But I need to be out west. That\u2019s where the opportunities are.\u201d<\/p>\n
The obituary, meanwhile, noted that Paul Sr. was survived by Pauly D; daughter Vanessa DelVecchio-Lindimore; as well as a brother, Dennis DelVecchio; he also had four grandchildren.<\/p>\n
