Jamie-Lynn Sigler<\/strong><\/a> says she feels \u2018triggered\u2019 by the ongoing wave of Ozempic and Mounjaro weight loss stories.<\/p>\n

The Sopranos<\/em> actress shared her feelings about the fad drug and her struggles with exercise bulimia on the Tuesday, May 14 episode of \u201cMeSsy,\u201d her podcast with Christina Applegate<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m a little triggered about all the Ozempic stuff. It\u2019s upsetting me,\u201d she said. \u201cI wish I didn\u2019t care.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sigler, 42, explained that, while she understands that the drugs can provide help for people who struggle with weight loss, she struggles to square that emotionally with the Hollywood craze surrounding the shots.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tChristina Applegate, Selma Blair, Jamie-Lynn Sigler, Jack Osbourne and many other celebrities have opened up about dealing with multiple sclerosis, an autoimmune disease. Applegate revealed in August 2021 that she was diagnosed with the condition. \u201cHi friends. A few months ago, I was diagnosed with MS,\u201d the Married \u2026 With Children alum wrote via X [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI actually know a handful of people that it has made an incredible difference in their lives. I have seen them struggle with their weight for a very, very, very long time and seen it give them a lot,\u201d she said. \u201cI am so happy for them. I also have seen friends of mine who were beautiful and healthy and perfect abusing it and it\u2019s upsetting me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Sigler went into her own struggles with disordered eating and weight loss, sharing that her high school notebooks were full of calorie counting in the margins and that she \u201cwas 80 pounds\u201d at her lowest point. The obsession with being thin almost lost Sigler her most-famous role as Meadow Soprano on the classic HBO crime drama.<\/p>\n

\u201cSopranos<\/em> was so f\u2014king amazing. They almost fired me because of how thin I was,\u201d she said. \u201cI had to show that I was well.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added to Applegate that the Ozempic trend \u2014 the drug was originally intended as treatment for diabetes \u2014 is undoing the work of the body positivity movement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt felt like we were on this road to really solidifying the body positivity [for] every shape and size and color and everyone\u2019s looking the same now,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

The HBO crime drama began in January 1999 with Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) reluctantly walking into the office of his new psychiatrist, Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco), after having a panic attack. Applegate, a teen star just like Sigler, who played Kelly Bundy on Married\u2026With Children,<\/em> said she denied herself food for many years<\/a>. She shared that she scrawled over her mirrors to keep from looking into them. Drugs like Ozempic make her fear a relapse.<\/p>\n

\u201cWithout us getting sued by talking about it too much, it just scares me,\u201d she said. \u201cI would love to drop this weight off [because] I have a closet full of clothes that I can\u2019t wear.\u201d<\/p>\n
