Jensen Ackles<\/strong><\/a> found a way to pay tribute to his iconic Supernatural<\/em> character, Dean Winchester, while making his debut on Tracker<\/em>.<\/p>\n

During the Sunday, May 12, episode of the CBS series, Justin Hartley<\/strong>\u2018s character Colter was reunited with his estranged brother<\/a>, Russell (Ackles). Colter agreed to help Russell track down his former army buddy who went missing after several weeks of paranoid behavior.<\/p>\n

When Colter picked up his older brother at a motel (which already gave Supernatural<\/em><\/a> fans a sense of deja vu), Russell made his way to the passenger\u2019s seat \u2014 but not before playfully patting a Chevrolet Impala that was parked right next to Colter\u2019s pickup truck. (The car was gone from the parking lot when Colter visited the motel again only to find out that Russell was gone.)<\/p>\n

Fans of Ackles\u2019 filmography should be very familiar with that subtle Easter egg. Before Ackles, 46, was cast as Russell, he rose to stardom playing Dean on The CW\u2019s hit series Supernatural<\/em>. Ackles starred opposite Jared Padalecki<\/strong>, who portrayed Dean\u2019s brother, Sam Winchester, from 2005 to 2020.<\/p>\n

Ackles decided to take the car with him<\/a> when Supernatural<\/em> came to an end.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs far as taking something on the final day, I will definitely be taking something that I\u2019ve had my eye on since day one of Supernatural,\u201d he told Digital Spy<\/em> in September 2020. \u201cBut it\u2019s OK, I\u2019m not stealing it. I got permission. I begged and begged and pleaded for years, but I finally got it this year. They\u2019re going to let me drive home the Impala.\u201d<\/p>\n

That same month, Ackles revealed he had a clause<\/a> about the Impala put in his contract. \u201cI\u2019ve been talking about that for two years now, and they finally added that to my contract this last season,\u201d he shared on Michael Rosenbaum<\/strong>\u2018s \u201cInside of You\u201d podcast about how Padalecki was offered the car\u2019s double to take home.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles not only formed a close bond with each other while playing brothers Sam and Dean Winchester, respectively, on Supernatural, but they also forged an unbreakable connection with their fans. The actors led the CW drama for 15 seasons from September 2005 to November 2020. The duo were the only cast [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Ackles continued to find success after Supernatural<\/em> with guest roles on projects such as Big Sky<\/em> and The Boys<\/em>. He reunited with Padalecki<\/a>, 41, in 2022 when Ackles directed \u2014 and made a cameo \u2014 in his former costar\u2019s The CW show Walker<\/em>. Ackles was also an executive producer and narrator on the Supernatural<\/em> spinoff series The Winchesters<\/em><\/a>, which ran from 2022 to 2023.<\/p>\n

Now, Ackles is expected to play a major role on CBS\u2019 Tracker<\/em>. Ahead of his debut, viewers slowly learned about Colter\u2019s issues with Russell<\/a>. Colter has hinted throughout the first season that he was on the outs with Russell because he thought his older brother was responsible for their father\u2019s death.<\/p>\n

Russell offered his side of the story during Sunday\u2019s episode when he claimed there was someone else in the woods the night their dad died. Despite not fully making amends, Colter agreed to help Russell as their investigation<\/a> led to them digging into Special Forces missions, shady off-the-books programs and conspiracy theories. In fact, most of Russell\u2019s scenes had blink-and-you-will-miss-it undertones that seemed very reminiscent of Dean Winchester.<\/p>\n
