The cast of NCIS: Hawai\u2019i<\/em> reunited on the beach at sunset following the shocking cancellation of their CBS show.<\/p>\n

Vanessa Lachey<\/strong><\/a> shared a photo via her Instagram Story on Saturday, May 11, of several NCIS: Hawai\u2019i<\/em> cast members watching the sunset with their arms around each other. Lachey, 43, shared the photo along with the song \u201cSomewhere Over the Rainbow\u201d by Israel Kamakawiwo\u02bbole<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

In another photo shared by Lachey via Instagram Story, she posed in front of a stunning skyline with castmates Tori Anderson<\/strong> and her husband Mitch Meyers<\/strong>, Jason Antoon<\/strong> and his wife Seana Kofoed<\/strong>, as well as Vanessa\u2019s husband, Nick Lachey<\/strong>, and Noah Mills<\/strong>. \u201cWe \u2764\ufe0f U Hawai\u2019i\u2019\u2026 We really REALLY LOVE you!\u201d Vanessa captioned the photo.<\/p>\n

This surprise beach reunion for the NCIS: Hawai\u2019i<\/em> cast comes just a week after part 2 of the two-part series finale aired on Monday, May 6. Us Weekly<\/em> confirmed<\/a> that the CBS series was officially canceled on April 26 after three seasons. The Hawaii-based series premiered in 2021 and starred Vanessa as Special Agent in Charge Jane Tennant, the first female lead for an NCIS<\/em> spinoff.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe NCIS family just keeps growing \u2014 with six existing or former shows and two more on the way as of 2024. While many fans might think the naval intelligence-based franchise began with NCIS, that\u2019s not the case. The flagship NCIS show was actually JAG, which debuted on NBC in 1995. The series followed military [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cIt is incumbent on us to always keep the schedule fresh, keep momentum going,\u201d president of CBS Entertainment Amy Reisenbach<\/strong><\/a> said on May 2 when the network unveiled its 2024-25 schedule. \u201cEverything came back [from the Hollywood strikes] really strong, but ultimately we have to look at the cohesiveness of the schedule flow. We have to evaluate the financials and the performance overall, and we make tough decisions.\u201d<\/p>\n

Reisenbach said, \u201cNo,\u201d when asked if the show\u2019s cancellation might be reversed.<\/p>\n

Vanessa, for her part, said via Instagram Story on April 27 that the cancellation left her \u201cgutted, confused, [and] blindsided.\u201d<\/a> She added, \u201cProcessing this news and still being present with my family. I love you all! Mahalo Nui Loa.\u201d<\/p>\n

On May 1, Vanessa shared a lengthy goodbye<\/a> to her NCIS<\/em> character via Instagram alongside a video of herself wiping away tears while sitting by the ocean.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis was the same spot where I filmed episode 1,\u201d she wrote in the caption. \u201cI sat here at 2am [in] June 2021 and stared into the ocean. I asked her to protect me, my family, my crew and our show. I told her we will do all we can to protect the grace and integrity of Hawai\u2019i while also sharing her Beauty with the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
