If you felt d\u00e9j\u00e0 vu while reading that title, it’s because Michael Douglas already shared his thoughts on intimacy coordinators during an interview last month<\/a> (“I\u2019m sure there were people that overstepped their boundaries, but before, we seemed to take care of that ourselves. They would get a reputation and that would take care of them.”).<\/p>\n

In an interview this week, the 79 year old actor was asked about current films having fewer sex scenes. In response, he said:
“It\u2019s interesting with all the intimacy coordinators. It feels like executives taking control away from filmmakers \u2014 but there have been some terrible faux pas and harassment.\u201d <\/p>\n

He said that when he filmed sex scenes, the actor would take on the role now fulfilled by intimacy coordinators:
\u201cSex scenes are like fight scenes, it\u2019s all choreographed. In my experience, you take responsibility as the man to make sure the woman is comfortable, you talk it through. You say, \u2018OK, I\u2019m gonna touch you here if that\u2019s all right\u2019. It\u2019s very slow but looks like it\u2019s happening organically, which is hopefully what good acting looks like.\u201d<\/p>\n
