After being absent from Netflix\u2019s Wednesday<\/em><\/a> season 2 cast announcement<\/a>, Percy Hynes White<\/strong> has confirmed he is not returning to the hit series.<\/p>\n

Taking to social media on Tuesday, May 7, to address speculation sparked by the streaming service\u2019s official cast reveal, White, 22, had nothing but praise for the critically acclaimed show, which will return to screens in 2025.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had so much fun working on this show,\u201d the actor wrote via his Instagram<\/a> Story alongside a photograph of the complete season 2 cast. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to watch season 2. Much love.\u201d<\/p>\n

White, who played Xavier Thorpe and harbored a crush on Wednesday Addams, played by Jenna Ortega<\/strong>, in season 1, has faced claims of sexual assault since the show\u2019s debut.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tNetflix has possible plans to create a Wednesday spinoff around Uncle Fester \u2014 but Us has some other ideas about where the story could go. The series, which premiered in November 2022, is based on the character Wednesday Addams, who was originally introduced in The Addams Family cartoons. The concept later was adapted into a [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In early 2023, the hashtag #cancelpercy spread across X, formerly Twitter, after a user posted about the Gifted<\/em> actor\u2019s accused predatory behavior. The posts have since been deleted.<\/p>\n

White was also accused of sending images of himself to minors and using a racial slur during a performance.<\/p>\n

The actor has vehemently denied<\/a> the accusations, posting to Instagram in June 2023 to address the claims.<\/p>\n

\u201cHey everyone. There\u2019s something I need to clarify,\u201d he wrote at the time. \u201cEarlier this year, somebody I\u2019ve never met started a campaign of misinformation about me online. Underage photos of me were used, and examples of me acting in character were presented as hateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

White claimed that the rumors were \u201cfalse,\u201d adding, \u201cI can\u2019t accept the portrayal of me as someone bigoted, or criminally negligent of people\u2019s safety.\u201d<\/p>\n

In addition to White\u2019s absence, Naomi J. Owaga<\/strong>, who portrayed Nevermore Academy student Yoko Tanaka, was also omitted from Netflix\u2019s casting reveal earlier this week.<\/p>\n

On the flipside, Catherine Zeta-Jones<\/strong>, Luis Guzm\u00e1n<\/strong>, Isaac Ordonez<\/strong> and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo<\/strong> will all be promoted to series regulars for season 2<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The series reintroduced fans to a new version of Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega) in November 2022. During season 1, the titular character attempted to master her psychic powers at Nevermore Academy while dealing with [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Steve Buscemi<\/strong>, Billie Piper<\/strong>, Evie Templeton<\/strong>, Owen Painter<\/strong> and Noah Taylor<\/strong> were also revealed as newly added castmembers.<\/p>\n
