\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n The domestic violence charges against Rick and Morty <\/em>co-creator Justin Roiland<\/strong><\/a> have been dropped and he is speaking out in a new statement.<\/p>\n Justin<\/strong> was dropped by Adult Swim back in January<\/a>, around two weeks after the felony charges went public. He was accused of domestic violence by an ex-girlfriend and was charged with one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one felony count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and\/or deceit. He pleaded not guilty. <\/p>\n Orange County District Attorney\u2019s office spokeswoman Kimberly Edds<\/strong> said in a statement on Wednesday (March 22): \u201cWe dismissed the charges today as a result of having insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.\u201d<\/p>\n Now, Justin <\/strong>is speaking out.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI have always known that these claims were false \u2014 and I never had any doubt that this day would come,\u201d Justin <\/strong>said. \u201cI\u2019m thankful that this case has been dismissed but, at the same time, I\u2019m still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process. Most of all, I\u2019m disappointed that so many people were so quick to judge without knowing the facts, based solely on the word of an embittered ex trying to bypass due process and have me \u2018canceled.\u2019 That it may have succeeded, even partially, is shameful. However, now that the legal case has ended, I\u2019m determined to move forward and focus both on my creative projects and restoring my good name.\u201d<\/p>\n Justin<\/strong>\u2018s attorney told Variety<\/a><\/em>, \u201cI commend the Orange County District Attorney\u2019s Office for conducting a thorough review of the facts and deciding to dismiss the case against Justin.
