The company revealed back in 2016 that the 70kWh battery in the Model S 70 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2016\/5\/5\/11597508\/tesla-model-s-70-battery-upgrade-pay-unlock-battery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">actually had 75kWh<\/a> of capacity that customers could pay more than $3,000 to access.
