Usher<\/strong><\/a> sent a message to fans after his Lovers & Friends Festival was canceled due to weather hours before it was scheduled to begin.<\/p>\n

\u201cMannn\u2026I\u2019m just as disappointed as you are,\u201d Usher, 45, wrote via X<\/a> on Saturday, May 4. \u201cWe were getting ready to turn up and celebrate today. I have to follow the orders of city officials and the National Weather Service for everyone\u2019s protection and stand strong in my belief that everything happens for a reason.\u201d<\/p>\n

He continued, \u201cI\u2019m sorry we won\u2019t get to see each other today, but know that I am always working on something to express my heartfelt gratitude for each and every one of you who continue to support me. I\u2019ll see you soon.\u201d<\/p>\n

The festival \u2014 which was named after Usher\u2019s 2004 track with Ludacris <\/strong>and Lil Jon<\/strong> \u2014 shared a statement via its social media and official website on Saturday, notifying attendees of the cancellation.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe new year is still young, but the calendar is already full of music festivals showcasing artists of all genres \u2014 and drawing in the biggest celebs. Festival season is usually characterized by surprise collaborations, major fashion moments and controversy, and 2024 will likely be no different. From Boston to L.A., dozens of different events [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cSaturday\u2019s Lovers & Friends Festival at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds has been canceled,\u201d the statement<\/a> began, adding that organizers had been \u201cmonitoring the weather for several days and proactively preparing for a windy Saturday.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement noted that the National Weather Service issued a \u201cHigh Wind Warning, including dangerous 30-35 mph sustained winds with gusts potentially more than 60mph.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cFollowing advice from the National Weather Service and in consultation with local public officials, we must make the safest decision for our fans, artists, and staff, and cancel tomorrow\u2019s Lovers & Friends Festival,\u201d the statement continued. \u201cThis was an incredibly heartbreaking decision to make as we are aware that fans have traveled from all over the world to enjoy this incredible lineup of superstars and have been looking forward to this event for several months.\u201d<\/p>\n

The statement concluded, \u201cWe\u2019ve worked hard to create an amazing event for you, and we are just as disappointed as you are.\u201d<\/p>\n

The event organizers noted that fans who purchased their tickets directly through Front Gate Tickets would receive a refund within 30 days.<\/p>\n

Stars like Janet Jackson, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Gwen Stefani, Snoop Dogg <\/strong>and Ludacris<\/strong> were expected to take the stage on Saturday.<\/p>\n
