The 42-year-old \u20187 Days\u2019 singer \u2013 famed for boasting about \u201cmaking love by Wednesday, and then on Thursday, and Friday and Saturday\u201d on the track, as well as for his womanising at the peak of his 1990s fame \u2013 declared in the summer of 2023 he hadn\u2019t had sex in \u201cmaybe a year or so\u201d.<\/p>\n
He has now told \u2018The TMZ Podcast\u2019 about extending his self-imposed celibacy into 2024: \u201cWhen I did the first album, \u2018Born To Do It,\u2019 I was 17 years old. So these were all aspirations.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn a funny way, as much as I was like, \u2018Wow,\u2019 to myself for a moment, it just felt that creativity has been on a hundred, on a max for those two years (since giving up sex.)\u201d<\/p>\n
Craig added he decided to \u201cpark\u201d his sexual appetite as he wanted to explore what his life would be like without the pressure of being physical with partners.<\/p>\n
\nThe singer is currently on his \u20187 Days\u2019 tour which hit a glitch on Saturday (04.05.24) when his scheduled appearance in Las Vegas at Usher\u2019s \u2018Lovers and Friends\u2019 festival was cancelled on Friday evening due to dangerous weather predicted for the weekend.<\/p>\n
\nCraig last year told The Louis Theroux Podcast\u2019 his womanising days and string of one-night stands sparked \u201cmany different traumas\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nHe added about choosing celibacy as he hunts for true love: \u201cSometimes you gotta pull it back, man. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cI\u2019m 42 years old now \u2013 things are different. If we can\u2019t deep dive, if I can\u2019t have a conversation and at the same time laugh like crazy with you, and see the beauty from within you, then we\u2019re just gonna be doing the same game that I\u2019ve been playing since day one.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI don\u2019t want that anymore.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nHe also spoke about being left with heartache from a two-week romance when he was 16, which he said \u201cclosed down\u201d his heart.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
