There\u2019s last-minute, and then there\u2019s \u201cdays before the Met Gala 2024, which you happen to be co-chairing, and your dress hasn\u2019t even been made yet.\u201d Zendaya<\/strong><\/a>, apparently, falls into that incredibly specific second category.<\/p>\n In an interview with the New York Times<\/em> published Thursday<\/a>, self-proclaimed \u201cimage architect\u201d and \u201cmost unretired retired person\u201d Law Roach<\/strong><\/a> said that the 27-year-old\u2019s dress \u201cisn\u2019t even made.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cThey won\u2019t fit until Saturday,\u201d he continued.<\/p>\n It\u2019s a nail-bitingly tight timeline for the biggest fashion event of the year\u2014this year\u2019s dress code is \u201cThe Garden of Time\u201d to salute the \u201cSleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion\u201d exhibit Costume Institute opening\u2014but to be fair, Zendaya and Roach have been busy<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cWe\u2019ve been on two press tours\u2014Dune 2<\/em> and Challengers<\/em>\u2014and doing two Vogue<\/em> covers<\/a>,\u201d Roach said. Indeed, the press tours for both films also served as tours de force of thematically-aligned fashion, with Zendaya playing with the former\u2019s sci-fi ideas<\/a> and sporting athletic-inspired tenniscore looks<\/a> for the latter via her red carpet ensembles.<\/p>\n Roach, who announced his retirement from styling in March 2023<\/a>, said he\u2019s \u201cbeen saying no to a lot of unhappy people. Except Zendaya. I can\u2019t say no to her.\u201d He said that he and the actor are \u201cfashion soulmates\u201d who collaborate frequently.<\/p>\n \u201cI write the script, and she does the rewrites,\u201d he said of their partnership.<\/p>\n This year, Zendaya is a co-chair of the Met Gala alongside Chris Hemsworth, Bad Bunny,<\/strong> and Jennifer Lopez<\/strong>.
