Kelly felt Abby had brought in surprise newcomer Kalani Hilliker purposefully as an ambush and to replace her two children.<\/p>\n<p>Abby denied it, but Kelly was not detoured. Things unfortunately got physical when Abby walked up to Kelly and pointed her finger in her face. However, the charges were eventually <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/news\/162207_kelly_hyland_gets_charges_dropped_after_slapping_dance_moms_star_abby_lee_miller\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dropped<\/a>. Kelly agreed to go to counseling and to stay away from Abby for six months. <\/p>\n<p>Six months quickly turned into forever, as the girls quit dancing with Abby. But the legal battles were just beginning. <\/p>\n<p>Kelly and her daughters filed a lawsuit against Abby and the show\u2019s production company in November 2014, months after the explosive fight. <\/p>\n<p>The family claimed the girls that they suffered from \u201cdefamation\u201d and \u201cemotional distress\u201d because of the show, according to <em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hollywoodreporter.com\/business\/business-news\/judge-trims-lawsuit-dance-moms-750145\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">THR<\/a>.<\/em>  They alleged Abby had a \u201cdomineering and often bullying and insulting leadership style\u201d and wanted $5 million in damages. However, the judge through the case out, stating there wasn\u2019t enough \u201cevidence.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>So, the girls lost the battle and war. After that, neither sister pursued a dancing career. <\/p>\n<p>But don\u2019t feel bad for them. But the reunion was the first time we\u2019ve sat there and gone, \u2018Wow, this happened! And it was my mom and my dance teacher who was a very important person in my life.
