The Masked Singer<\/em><\/a> took Us<\/em> back to the early aughts with an all-time delightful reveal during the Group B Finals.<\/p>\n

The Beets were unmasked as \u2014 spoiler alert \u2014 American Idol<\/em>\u2019s Ruben Studdard<\/strong><\/a> and Clay Aiken<\/strong><\/a> during the Wednesday, May 1, episode of the Fox reality competition series, and the panelists couldn\u2019t get enough.<\/p>\n

The duo performed \u201c(I\u2019ve Had) The Time of My Life\u201d by Bill Medley<\/strong> and Jennifer Warnes<\/strong> with Gumball in an attempt to save themselves in the final moments of the show but were ultimately unsuccessful despite none of the judges accurately guessing their identities.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been amazing, we had a good time. It\u2019s a lot of fun and the audience is amazing. It\u2019s good to see everyone, it\u2019s a good time,\u201d Studdard said, while Aiken gushed over being compared to some of the judge\u2019s guesses like Boyz II Men and K-Ci & JoJo.<\/p>\n

Aiken and Studdard, both 45, competed on season 2 of Idol<\/em>, which aired in 2003. Studdard was crowned the victor<\/a>, but the narrow margin of his win<\/a> \u2014 just 134,000 votes \u2014 caused controversy at the time<\/a>. Since then, however, the two singers have remained friends. In 2023, they embarked on a joint tour celebrating the 20th anniversary of their time on Idol<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Last year, Aiken admitted that he didn\u2019t like it when attendees told him they voted for him or vice versa.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe occasionally will see somebody in the audience with an old Ruben shirt, like a lady last night \u2026 and I joked with her,\u201d he told The Washington Post<\/em><\/a>. \u201cBut I don\u2019t even like it when we do a meet-and-greet and someone says, \u2018I voted for you,\u2019 when [Ruben] is in the room. It pisses me off! And if someone says that to him, then [he] better be pissed too.\u201d<\/p>\n

Studdard countered that interactions like that didn\u2019t bother him because fans are the reason they were able to do the anniversary tour in the first place.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt doesn\u2019t make me mad,\u201d he explained. \u201cBecause we wouldn\u2019t be here if somebody hadn\u2019t voted for him, and vice versa, so he needs to calm down.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since the show debuted in January 2019, the celebrity contestants have included Joey Fatone, Michelle Williams, Tori Spelling, Mickey Rourke, Patti LaBelle, Kelly Osbourne, Bret Michaels, Lil Wayne, Jordyn Woods, Wendy Williams, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

In previous weeks, Masked Singer<\/em> panelists guessed that Beets could be Arrested Development<\/em> alums Jason Bateman<\/strong> and Will Arnett<\/strong> or Only Murders in the Building<\/em> stars Steve Martin<\/strong> and Martin Short<\/strong>. In hindsight, however, all clues pointed to Studdard and Aiken.<\/p>\n
