Kate Hudson just wants her father to be happy even though they have become estranged<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old actress is the daughter of Hollywood star Goldie Hawn<\/a> and Bill Hudson but has become somewhat estranged from the singer over the years and admitted that things are “warming up” now but they’re still not perfect.<\/p>\n

Speaking on ‘CBS Sunday Mornings’, she said: “I don\u2019t really have one. But it\u2019s \u2014 it\u2019s warming up. There\u2019s warming up with this all happening. But it\u2019ll be whatever it will be, you know. I have \u2014 I have no expectation of that with my father, you know. I just want him to be happy.”<\/p>\n

Goldie and Bill divorced in 1982 and she went on to a relationship with Kurt Russell<\/a>, with Kate explaining in 2021 that being estranged from a parent had become “quite common” across the world but she had found a “dependable figure” in her stepfather. <\/p>\n

She told ‘Today’: “I think that estrangement is unfortunately quite common.<\/p>\n

\n“I think it’s important for people to talk about that. If they can’t reconnect or if it’s too challenging, that it’s OK, right?<\/p>\n

\n“It’s a 41-year-old issue. I have a great family. I have a beautiful mother. I have a stepfather who stepped in and played a huge, huge part in sharing what it is to have a dependable father figure in our life.<\/p>\n

\n“But it doesn’t take away from the fact that we didn’t know our dad.”<\/p>\n

\nDespite their estrangement, the ‘Almost Famous’ star still loves her dad but is happy to speak about their difficulties to give comfort to others going through similar situations.<\/p>\n

\nShe added: “I think as I’ve sort of gone through that process … I kind of look at my dad and I’m, like, ‘You know, the love has never ever gone anywhere. It’s always been there, no matter what those complications have been.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
