As fans continue to parse what the lyrics of Taylor Swift<\/strong>\u2019s latest release, the 31-track double album The Tortured Poets Department<\/em><\/a>, mean, the purported subject of some of those emotional songs is reportedly \u201cdoing well.\u201d<\/p>\n We\u2019re not talking about Matty Healy<\/strong><\/a>. The world heard from him<\/a> last week and he seems fine, if maybe a little bewildered. Now, it\u2019s Joe Alwyn<\/strong>\u2019s turn.<\/p>\n An unnamed source told People<\/em><\/a> that Alwyn, with whom Swift was in a relationship for some six years before their breakup became public knowledge just over a year ago<\/a> in April 2023, is \u201cfocused on work\u201d and has \u201cmoved on\u201d from Swift.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s dating and happy,\u201d the source said. \u201cHe\u2019s a great guy and not into drama in any way.\u201d<\/p>\n Alwyn \u201ccertainly doesn\u2019t talk poorly about [Taylor],\u201d the source said. \u201cHe was in love with her, and it just didn\u2019t work out.\u201d<\/p>\n It\u2019s not surprising that he doesn\u2019t talk poorly of her, because Alwyn rarely talks publicly at all. \u201cJoe loves acting, but can\u2019t stand the attention that comes with it. He\u2019s not comfortable in the spotlight,” the source added.<\/p>\n Indeed, even when the two were dating, the notoriously private Alwyn refused to speak about Swift in interviews, even clamming up<\/a> when asked where he keeps the Grammy he earned by co-writing songs with her. \u201cI actually don’t know where it is,\u201d he said in an interview with Gold Derby<\/em>. \u201cI think it’s on the piano.\u201d In 2018, when GQ<\/em> asked him<\/a> to name his favorite Swift track, his response was that he was \u201cjust not even going to go<\/em> into that side of the world.\u201d<\/p>\n Swift has moved on with a new-ish romance<\/a> with Kansas City Chiefs star tight end Travis Kelce<\/strong>, hard launching their relationship<\/a> with an appearance at one of his games in September 2023. Though an unnamed source told Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> that Alwyn and Swift \u201care not in touch at this point,\u201d their Venn diagrams do have significant points of overlap: For example, Alwyn\u2019s next role is in director Yorgos Lanthimos<\/strong>\u2019s Kinds of Kindness<\/em>, which he stars in opposite noted Swift pal Emma Stone<\/strong><\/a>. Margaret Qualley<\/strong>, whose New Jersey wedding to frequent Swift collaborator Jack Antonoff<\/strong> Swift attended last summer, is also in the film. Just because Swift has said \u201cSo Long, London,\u201d that doesn\u2019t mean the world\u2019s maps have been revised.<\/p>\n Representatives for Alwyn and Swift did not immediately respond to requests for comment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
