The cast of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/shows\/ted-lasso\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>Ted Lasso<\/em><\/a> helped<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> <strong>President Joe Biden<\/strong> <\/a>discuss the importance of mental health by making a special appearance at the White House.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p3 x_ContentPasted0\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/jason-sudeikis\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Jason Sudeikis<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 along with costars <strong>Brett Goldstein, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/stylish\/news\/emmys-2022-hannah-waddingham-wears-sneakers-under-dress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hannah Waddingham<\/a>, Brendan Hunt, James Lance<\/strong> and <strong>Toheeb Jimoh<\/strong> \u2014 visited the President and First Lady, <strong>Jill Biden<\/strong>, on Monday, March 20, to assist in tackling the mental health crisis, which is the centerpiece of the Biden Administration\u2019s Unity Agenda. Prior to their meeting with the commander-in-chief himself, the cast participated in a press conference alongside press secretary <strong>Karine Jean-Pierre<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p3 x_ContentPasted0\">\u201cIt\u2019s sincerely an honor to visit the White House and have the opportunity to speak to the President and First Lady about the importance of mental health.<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/pictures\/stars-whove-battled-mental-health-issues-2013136\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"> No matter who you are, no matter where you live,<\/a> no matter who you voted for, we all \u2014 probably, I assume \u2014 we all know someone \u2014 or have been that someone ourselves, actually \u2014 who has struggled, that\u2019s felt isolated, that\u2019s felt anxious, that\u2019s felt alone,\u201d Sudeikis, 47 \u2014 who portrays titular character Ted Lasso on the AppleTV+ series \u2014 told reporters. \u201cAnd it\u2019s actually one of the many things, believe it or not, that we all have in common as human beings. That means it\u2019s something we can all \u2014 and should \u2014 talk about with one another when we\u2019re feeling that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p3 x_ContentPasted0\">He continued, \u201cA big theme of the show is to check in with your neighbor, your coworker, your friends, your family and ask how they\u2019re doing and listen. While it\u2019s easier said than done, we also have to know that we shouldn\u2019t be afraid to ask for help ourselves. And that does take a lot, especially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-news\/pictures\/stars-whove-been-spoken-out-about-mental-health-amid-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">when it\u2019s something that has such a negative stigma to it such as mental health<\/a>, and that doesn\u2019t need to be that way.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span\/><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p3 x_ContentPasted0\">The<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/shows\/saturday-night-live\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em> Saturday Night Live<\/em><\/a> alum went on to urge people to find help from either a \u201cprofessional\u201d or \u201cloved one\u201d in their lives, adding that while Americans don\u2019t always \u201cagree\u201d on everything, he believes \u201cwe should all do our best to help take care of each other\u201d \u2014 something the characters of <em>Ted Lasso<\/em> do quite well.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p3 x_ContentPasted0\">\u201cThat\u2019s my own personal belief that\u2019s what everyone here on stage feels. That\u2019s something <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/entertainment\/pictures\/ted-lasso-season-3-everything-to-know\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">we talk about in the writer\u2019s room<\/a> and we talk about in the editing room and everything in between,\u201d he shared. \u201cI just want to emulate the folks we play at AFC Richmond and the way they take care of each other. That is the wish fulfillment on the show.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_p3 x_ContentPasted0\">While the hit comedy, which premiered in August 2020, centers around an American football coach (Sudeikis) who is hired to manage a British soccer team, the show has pushed beyond the confines of athletics to touch on important topics including mental health over the years. Season 2 saw Lasso <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrity-body\/pictures\/celebrities-with-anxiety-what-helps-mental-health-panic-attacks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">struggle with panic attacks<\/a> and depression as learned to let go of preconceived notions and find solace in therapy.
