When pressed, she confesses that the trials she endured under Abby\u2019s direction prepared her for the next chapter of her life. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I was a mess and a beat off, she wasn\u2019t just yelling at me because she wanted to yell at me. I actually was a mess and I was a beat off,\u201d JoJo admits in the first look of the special via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.etonline.com\/dance-moms-the-reunion-jojo-siwa-defends-abby-lee-millers-behavior-to-co-stars-223989\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>ET<\/em><\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>She hold firm in her argument that Abbey wasn\u2019t controlling or mean just to be vindictive, but rather to prepare the girls for the reality of being a professional dancer. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne thing that I\u2019ve learned really working, like, insane, in Hollywood is that that\u2019s normal,\u201d Jojo adds. \u201cAnd it\u2019s scary that that\u2019s normal, but that taught me how to survive in the industry. It truly is so tough.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\">\n<p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Official Trailer | Dance Moms: The Reunion | Lifetime\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/nZhwoUwbNBM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/p>\n<\/figure>\n<h2 id=\"h-dance-moms-cast-don-t-forgive-abby-lee-miller\">\u2018Dance Moms\u2019 Cast Don\u2019t Forgive Abby Lee Miller <\/h2>\n<p>It may turn out to be that JoJo is the lone defender of her teacher, as the other girls have made it quite clear through the years that they\u2019ve found <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2022\/06\/abby-lee-miller-slams-maddie-ziegler-she-loved-dance-moms\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Abby\u2019s methods<\/a> abusive and traumatic. <\/p>\n<p>For example, in October 2014, a lawsuit was\u00a0filed on behalf of\u00a0Paige Hyland, who was then only 13 years old. She claimed that she suffered emotional abuse during her time at the ALDC. The latter has been very vocal about her distain for Abbey and how painful it has been for her to look back on her past. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI had more stress [on the show] than I did once I left. I have dissociated so much from that time,\u201d\u00a0Maddie Ziegler, who starred on the Lifetime reality TV show from 2011 until 2016, told\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/entertainment\/celebs\/a40154362\/maddie-ziegler-interview-2022\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Cosmopolitan<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in June 2022. \u201cIt\u2019s weird because there were really amazing times, but there were also a lot of things that were really, really not great for us kids.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Arguably, Maddie and JoJo Siwa have been the biggest success stories to come out of the franchise.
