Married at First Sight<\/em><\/a> season 17 stars Lauren Goodger<\/strong> and Michael Shiakallis<\/strong> know that some people think they should\u2019ve been paired up with each other.<\/p>\n

During a first look at the Wednesday, April 24, episode of the Lifetime series shared exclusively with Us Weekly<\/em>, Lauren and Michael catch up with their costar Clare Kerr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When Clare asks Lauren and Michael whether they are dating anyone after their respective splits from Orion Martzloff<\/strong> and Chloe Brown<\/strong>, Michael points out that it sounds like she\u2019s inquiring whether they\u2019re dating each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou know the internet has been willing this, they have been willing this interaction,\u201d Michael then tells Lauren. \u201cMy friends always poke fun at me about the whole being rematched [thing]. [They say], \u2018Why didn\u2019t they just match you with Lauren?\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tWhen it comes to reality TV couples, it\u2019s not easy to make a relationship last \u2013 but many from Married at First Sight have proven that they could do just that. Lauren then admits that she\u2019s heard similar comments from her loved ones.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy family in the beginning \u2014 definitely in the earlier episodes, especially the matchmaking type of phase \u2014 they were like, \u2018So, why wasn\u2019t Michael your match?\u2019 I\u2019ve had family members that were like, \u2018I feel like just objectively viewing this, Michael [should\u2019ve been your match],\u2019\u201d Lauren says.<\/p>\n

Lauren and Michael\u2019s comments about their potential compatibility comes after they both weathered failed relationships on Married at First Sight<\/em>. Lauren married Orion on the show right after meeting him, and two weeks later, the duo were divorced<\/a>. They got into a particularly tense argument during a November 2023 episode when Orion declared sex \u201coff the table\u201d after Lauren admitted she\u2019d last had sex two months prior.<\/p>\n

Michael, meanwhile, was stood up at the altar by his first match. He was then rematched with Chloe and struggled with commitment issues before deciding to divorce her. Michael has since faced backlash online for his decision, which he addressed via his Instagram Story earlier this month.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t speak too much on this until after the reunion airs, but I will share this: I understand the disappointment,\u201d he wrote. \u201cFor those that have shared some kind works: thank you. For those that did not: I understand.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael isn\u2019t the only one who has reacted to hate from the MAFS<\/em> fan base. Lauren clapped back at internet trolls in March while responding to an Instagram post.<\/p>\n
