Theresa Nist<\/strong><\/a> is finding joy in the little things following her split from Gerry Turner<\/strong><\/a>. The Golden Bachelor<\/em><\/a> star took to Instagram on Tuesday, April 23, to give fans an update on what she\u2019s been up to since the pair announced they were divorcing.<\/p>\n \u201cGardening has been a constant source of joy in my life,\u201d Theresa, 70, wrote on Instagram<\/a>, along with photos of her colorful garden. \u201cIt feeds my body, mind and soul. It does you a world of good. You\u2019re out in fresh air and sunshine (or clouds and rain) and your hands are in dirt (wear gloves!). You\u2019re getting plenty of exercise, pushing a wheelbarrow, pulling weeds, pulling the hose to water everything and walking around everywhere. You\u2019re nourishing the soil and nurturing plants to grow to their best ability.\u201d<\/p>\n She called the process \u201cmeditative and energizing all at once\u201d and said that it\u2019s something she and her daughter \u201chighly recommend\u201d to everyone.<\/p>\n Theresa and Gerry, 72, announced on April 12 that they were \u201cdissolving [their] marriage\u201d just over three months after they tied the knot on January 4. The reality TV couple said that not being able to decide on a place to live<\/a> was the biggest factor in their decision. Gerry is from Indiana, while Theresa lives in New Jersey, and neither of them wanted to leave their families amid the new relationship.<\/p>\n Although they insisted that they still \u201cloved\u201d each other and would remain \u201cbest friends,\u201d the duo\u2019s breakup rocked Bachelor Nation. Theresa addressed the critics in an Instagram post on April 15.<\/p>\n \u201cIt was one of the most incredible experiences of my life, something I never expected to happen at this point in my life and I truly thought was going to last forever,\u201d she shared. \u201cIt turns out, even at the age of 70, you don\u2019t know everything. Sometimes things don\u2019t go the way you planned and that\u2019s okay. I take so many positives away from this experience, most importantly and above all the incredible friends I now have in all of these amazing, wonderful women.\u201d<\/p>\n Theresa has insisted that the November 2023 expos\u00e9 about Gerry in The Hollywood Reporter<\/em> \u2013 which uncovered a three-year romantic relationship that he had never spoken publicly about \u2013 had nothing to do with the split. However, a source exclusively told Life & Style<\/em> that it was a \u201cred flag\u201d<\/a> for the financial services professional.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, by the time the article came out, Gerry and Theresa\u2019s engagement was about to air on The Golden Bachelor<\/em> finale. That same night, they announced their wedding plans.<\/p>\n \u201cIn a way Theresa felt like she had to go through<\/a> with the wedding because the whole world was watching, and she was hopeful,\u201d a source explained. \u201cShe thought she could get past that initial lie.
