\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n There\u2019s a major change coming to the CBS series FBI<\/strong><\/a><\/em> ahead of the upcoming seventh season.<\/p>\n The crime drama series is nearing the end of its sixth season right now and CBS has already renewed the show through 2027<\/a> for seasons seven, eight, and nine.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, a key team member has announced their departure.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Rick Eid<\/strong>, who has served as showrunner since season one, is stepping down from the role, but he will remain an executive producer on the show.<\/p>\n If you didn\u2019t know, Rick <\/strong>is also the showrunner of Law & Order<\/em> and he\u2019ll remain at that show.<\/p>\n \u201cAfter six years of running two, or more, shows, and CBS now picking up FBI <\/em>for three more years, this was the perfect time for me to step back and focus my efforts on running Law & Order <\/em>and developing new projects,\u201d Rick <\/strong>said in a statement (via Deadline<\/a>). \u201cI\u2019m extremely proud of FBI, and couldn\u2019t be happier for the cast, crew and producers. While I will no longer be the day-to-day showrunner, I intend to remain involved with the show going forward.\u201d <\/p>\n Producer Dick Wolf<\/strong> said, \u201cRick <\/strong>has been a core member of the Wolf family for two decades.
