The Glasgow-born star \u2013 probably best known for playing tour-bus robber Will in cult favourite movie \u2018Restless Natives\u2019 \u2013 starred as Diane\u2019s dad in Danny Boyle<\/a>\u2019s 1996 movie \u2018Trainspotting\u2019, and his passing left fans and colleagues stunned when it was announced on Tuesday (16.04.24) by his agent \u2013 though no details were given about the cause of his death.<\/p>\n

Scores of tributes have since poured in from actors and writers including \u2018Restless Natives\u2019 creator Ninian Dunnett, who is currently working on a stage adaptation of the 1985 movie with its the original director Michael Hoffman.<\/p>\n

He said: \u201cI\u2019m desperately sad to get this tragic news, he died far too early.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were blessed to find him for \u2018Restless Natives\u2019 as he had a gift for that character – the romantic worrier with the world on his shoulders.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cVince\u2019s lugubrious, doe-eyed, young face really is the spirit of the film to many people. And always will be.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWe\u2019re going to be touring the stage musical round Scotland next year, and I\u2019m more sorry than I can say that Vince won\u2019t be with us to share in the nostalgia and the celebration.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nVincent also starred in \u2018Still Game\u2019 as property developer Chris who planned to shut down The Clansman in the episode \u2018Who\u2019s the Daddy\u2019.<\/p>\n

\nHis other credits included a role in sitcom \u2018Still Hours\u2019, an episode of Taggart, in which he appeared alongside Ray Winstone, 67, and the TV film \u2018Tough Love\u2019, which also starred 65-year-old \u2018Line of Duty\u2019 actor Adrian Dunbar.<\/p>\n

\n\u2018Rab C Nesbitt\u2019 creator Ian Pattison, 73, who worked with Vincent when he appeared in the BBC sitcom in 1992, was also among those paying tribute to the actor.<\/p>\n

\nHe said: \u201cVince did us the honour of appearing in the \u2018Eorpa\u2019 episode of \u2018Rab C Nesbitt\u2019.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cHis passing has come as a huge shock to his many friends and work colleagues.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cWhat comes over clearly is how respected Vince was, not only as an actor but as a funny, sensitive and caring human being.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cCondolences to Vince\u2019s family at this very difficult time.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
