This one\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/4\/11\/24126785\/dji-avata-2-price-release-date\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a flyer<\/a>: a first-person experience through goggles that lasts longer and moves better than its predecessor. I need to take one of these for a spin.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.google\/products\/android\/android-find-my-device\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Find My Device on Android<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> It took Google a while to get this right, but device tracking is a great feature \u2014\u00a0and it appears Google will be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/4\/8\/24124174\/android-find-my-device-network-offline-tracker-tag-chipolo-pebblebee\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">much more open with the network<\/a> than Apple is with Find My. Clever to use Nest devices to tell you where you left your keys in the house, too.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themoviedb.org\/movie\/1242384-the-antisocial-network-memes-to-mayhem\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>The Antisocial Network: Memes to Mayhem<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>. <\/strong><\/em>Most of these hand-wringy Netflix docs about how bad the internet is \u2014 <em>The Great Hack<\/em>, <em>The Social Dilemma<\/em>, that sort of thing \u2014\u00a0are simplistic and frustrating to watch. This 4chan doc has a bit of the same problem but is smart and deep enough to teach you a few things about the web.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/frame.io\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Frame.io Version 4<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>If you do anything with video, especially with other people, this is a big upgrade: Frame.io this week got much better search, more organization tools, and custom metadata for better keeping track of things. And it\u2019s all much better on mobile now.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=1025X1701640&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fgo.skimresources.com%3Fid%3D1025X1701640%26xs%3D1%26url%3Dhttps%253A%252F%252Fus.kobobooks.com%252Fcollections%252Fereaders%252Fproducts%252Fkobo-clara-colour%253FranMID%253D37217%2526ranEAID%253DTnL5HPStwNw%2526ranSiteID%253DTnL5HPStwNw-l7j04Ry8fVm2SPCokS4fdQ%2526siteID%253DTnL5HPStwNw-l7j04Ry8fVm2SPCokS4fdQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kobo\u2019s Clara Colour<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>Color ebook readers! I love that Kobo exists as a check on and competitor to the Kindle, even though I\u2019m stuck in Amazon\u2019s ecosystem at this point. This is the latest and greatest in E Ink, and for $150, the faster and better Clara seems like a good deal.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/go.skimresources.com\/?id=1025X1701640&amp;xs=1&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DUQuIVsNzqDk%26t%3D1s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>\u201cThis Invention Made Disney MILLIONS, but Then They LOST It!\u201d<\/strong><\/a><strong> <\/strong>The Sodium Vapor Process is both an incredibly cool story about the history of filmmaking and a rad-sounding name for a pop punk band. Fun video about a fun invention and why a much worse product ended up winning out.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/shop.fairphone.com\/fairbuds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Fairphone\u2019s Fairbuds<\/strong><\/a><strong>. <\/strong>Repairable earbuds are a huge win. Because, you know, environment and waste and stuff, but also because you can replace the battery when the battery dies! As someone who keeps replacing AirPods because they only last an hour after a while, this is a big win. They look pretty nice, too.<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/strut.so\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Strut<\/strong><\/a><strong>.<\/strong> This is a <em>really <\/em>nice-looking app for anyone who writes a lot. It\u2019s part blank page, part organizer, plus a bunch of AI writing tools built in. You\u2019ll pay if you want the AI, but lucky for me, I don\u2019t. Free writing apps for the win!<\/li>\n<li class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup mb-16 pl-12 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.themoviedb.org\/movie\/929590-civil-war?language=en-US\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em><strong>Civil War<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em><strong>.<\/strong> <\/em>I don\u2019t know if I want to see this movie because it seems so plausible or if I <em>never <\/em>want to see this movie because it seems so plausible. After years of running Pebble and a stint as a VC, he\u2019s spent the last few years building a cross-platform messaging app called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.beeper.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Beeper<\/strong><\/a>. It\u2019s a great app, had a messy fight with Apple, and recently was acquired by Automattic, which owns WordPress.com and Tumblr and a bunch of other things. Eric\u2019s now in charge of Automattic\u2019s big messaging plans \u2014\u00a0and they\u2019re seriously big.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"duet--article--article-body-component\">\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph mb-20 font-fkroman text-18 leading-160 -tracking-1 selection:bg-franklin-20 dark:text-white dark:selection:bg-blurple [&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-franklin dark:[&amp;_a:hover]:shadow-highlight-blurple [&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-black dark:[&amp;_a]:shadow-underline-white\">I asked Eric to share his homescreen knowing two things: he\u2019s an Android fan through and through, and he uses a lot of messaging apps. I love having Calendar and Google Search right on the homescreen. We added a search button to the Beeper Android widget for the same reason! Even when it can\u2019t find a track, it makes it really easy to help you, a human, match the correct one. I <em>love <\/em>this thing so far. I\u2019m certainly no expert, but it\u2019s clicky without being loud, it has approximately six trillion shortcut keys and customization options, and it feels both fantastic and easy to type on.
