Then, something changed.<\/p>\n<p>CBS pulled the show from its daytime lineup on Thursday, March 21. Confused viewers quickly realized that it would not air on Friday, March 22, either.<\/p>\n<p>Fans feared that the network was doing a little spring cleaning. Had CBS canceled <em>The Talk<\/em> already?<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Curious. After all, CBS has a new soap opera, <em>The Gates<\/em>, which will need room to grow.<\/p>\n<p>(Notably, we should not confuse this soap with ABC\u2019s criminally underrated 2010 supernatural crime drama, <em>The Gates<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>However, CBS put forward the official story, via a press release: \u201c<em>The Talk<\/em> is preempted due to CBS Sports coverage of March Madness.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-cbs-replaced-the-talk-with-what\">CBS replaced \u2018The Talk\u2019 with WHAT?<\/h2>\n<p>March Madness is a sports term, referring to a series of basketball games that are, one assumes, very exciting to basketball fans.<\/p>\n<p>(Yes, the Super Bowl was literally just one month earlier, but that was football. Hosts included Julie Chen Moonves, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, Leah Remini, and Holly Robinson Peete.<\/p>\n<p>In 2024, the Season 14 lineup includes Sheryl Underwood, Jerry O\u2019Connell, Natalie Morales, Akbar Gbajabiamila, and Amanda Kloots.<\/p>\n<p>Departures can happen for many reasons.
