But, he\u2019ll always be remembered as the defendant in the very important trial of 1995.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cHe was very smart. He didn\u2019t always listen to his lawyers\u2019 advice. (I) told (Simpson) once he got acquitted to assume a low profile. (He) did not.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201cHe did some foolish things writing a book (\u2018If I Did It: Confessions of the Killer\u2019) or he went on a lot of television shows.<\/p>\n<p>\n\u201c(He) did not do himself very much good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\nAlan stressed Simpson\u2019s \u2018Trial of the Century\u2019 which went on for 11 months from 1994 to 1995 \u201chad a big impact on the American justice system, on media coverage of trials, on corruption\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>\nHe added: \u201cHe had a big impact on racial divisions \u2026 he left a mark.<\/p>\n<p>\nSimpson was arrested in 1994 in connection with the death of Ron and Nicole, who was stabbed so fiercely medical examiners said her head was almost decapitated.<\/p>\n<p>\nThe victims were stabbed to death outside Nicole\u2019s Los Angeles home on June 12, 1994, and despite his acquittal in his criminal trial, Simpson was later found liable for the murders in a civil case, and ordered to pay $33.5million in compensation.<\/p>\n<p>\nIt\u2019s been reported Simpson paid $50,000 a day for his huge defence team in the criminal trial, funded by memorabilia he signed while behind bars.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><br \/>\n<br \/><a href=\"https:\/\/www.femalefirst.co.uk\/celebrity\/simpsons-dream-team-defence-attorney-alan-dershowitz-will-always-mixed-legacy-1397776.html?f=rss\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Source link <\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>12 April 2024 OJ Simpson\u2019s \u2018Dream Team\u2019 defence attorney Alan Dershowitz says the acquitted double-murder suspect will \u201calways have a mixed legacy\u201d.
