Robert F. Kennedy Jr.<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s campaign has fired staffer Rita Palma,<\/strong> after she told GOP<\/a> voters that her \u201cnumber one priority\u201d is stopping Joe Biden<\/strong> from winning the election\u2014not by actually getting Kennedy 270 Electoral College votes, but by using him to play spoiler and reelect Donald Trump.<\/strong> After video of Palma\u2019s remarks surfaced online this week, Amaryllis Fox Kennedy,<\/strong> Kennedy\u2019s campaign manager and daughter-in-law, wrote<\/a>: \u201cWe\u2019re looking into whether any misrepresentations were made. Our campaign champions freedom of speech for all our supporters, volunteers, contractors, and staff, as long as they do not claim to speak on our behalf.\u201d Two days later, she said<\/a>: \u201cWe terminated her contract for misrepresentation immediately upon seeing the longer video in which she gave an inaccurate job title and described a conversation that did not happen.\u201d<\/p>\n This content can also be viewed on the site it originates<\/a> from.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n In footage of the meeting seen by CNN, Palma declared<\/a>: \u201cThe only way that Trump can even, remote possibility of taking New York is if Bobby is on the ballot. If it\u2019s Trump vs. Biden, Biden wins. Biden wins six days, seven days a week. With Bobby in the mix, anything can happen. The only way for him, for Bobby, to shake it up and to get rid of Biden is if he\u2019s on the ballot in every state, including New York.\u201d While Democrats have long warned that Kennedy\u2019s candidacy poses a grave threat to Biden, Palma spelling it out and flatly announcing that the goal is to help Trump win a second term was obviously not a good look for the Kennedy campaign. (Incidentally, she also attended<\/a> the \u201cStop the Steal\u201d rally that preceded the January 6 insurrection, claimed<\/a> January 6 \u201cwas not a riot\u201d but \u201c99.9 [percent] peaceful,\u201d and repeatedly called Trump her \u201cfavorite president\u201d in posts<\/a> online<\/a>.)<\/p>\n So, for optics purposes, she had to go.* Yet, as my colleague Eric Lutz<\/strong> noted<\/a> Wednesday, Palma is not the only Trump supporter in the Kennedy world. Per\u00a0The\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/em><\/a>,<\/em> Timothy Mellon<\/strong>\u00a0is the single largest donor to not just RFK Jr.\u2019s PAC\u00a0but also to Trump\u2019s MAGA Inc. The campaign also hired\u00a0Del Bigtree,<\/strong> who not only spoke at a pro-Trump rally on January 6, 2021, but unfoundedly said<\/a>, \u201cI wish I could believe that voting machines worked.\u201d Meanwhile, there was the \u201cmarketing contractor\u201d who wrote in Kennedy\u2019s fundraising emails that people convicted of taking part in the insurrection were \u201cJ6 activists\u2026stripped of their constitutional liberties.\u201d Sure, the campaign says it fired that contractor. But it\u2019s not hard to listen to what Kennedy himself has to say and conclude that he<\/em> also has very Trump-esque beliefs and is trying to get the ex-president reelected.<\/p>\n Last week, Kennedy said in a statement<\/a>: \u201cReasonable people, including Trump opponents, tell me there is little evidence of a true insurrection.\u201d<\/p>\nX content<\/h4>\n
